They're not as good as norm, but E's system makes it much worse on them. Hell, last season's o-line looked better against sabamm in Canada's system. The shifts were a big help.

You'll never do it period. They can pay players more than we can.

That said an attractive OC hire could attract more offensive playmakers. Obviously focus on lineman first.

Nope.

yep.

HOWEVER, you can mitigate it.

First and foremost is the trenches. Nationwide recruiting, expanded, offers everywhere, priority. If we can match them in the trenches by expanding our raidus for people with their hands in the dirt and prioritization that scheming becomes easier and more effective.

Secondly, fight like hell and cheat smartly for any lineman we're in a battle with Bama (or any SEC-W opponent) with. It is a double whammy to lose a premiere lineman to them.

For 4 years in a row we had arguably the best backs LSU ever had in the modern area and they were negated by getting beat up front. Win the recruiting battle in the trenches, significantly increase your chances on the field.

We can recruit and coach better. We must have a better strength program. No,scheme can overcome the inability to at least get a standoff at the line of scrimmage. For five years now we have not blocked the Bama front. This game might have been the worst.

Defensively we were dominated as well. Why aren’t you guys talking about getting a new DC.

We will never out-recruit Saban until we start out-scheming him

You better shut it up. You can't criticize Aranda under any circumstances. You can go over his head and blame O for any deficiencies on the defense.

Yeah so lets just disband the football program until Saban retires. And the rest of the SEC should do the same since they will be out recruited as well. Damn shame, I really enjoyed the football team.

Do you have any thoughts of your own, or do you want to just keep quoting Matt Moscona?

How is this so difficult to understand? If you can’t match their talent, you have to out-scheme them.

How can ANYONE watch that garbage offensive “gameplan” Saturday and claim all we need is better line talent?

Since Sabans second or maybe third year, he had more talent that every single team Bama has faced with the only exception being the 2011 LSU team.

Yet he has lost games on almost every year.

If our only issue is less talent, how have those other teams managed to beat Saban.

so many of you guys are wasting your talents. you should be making millions working as football coaches.

I don't accept that we can't recruit on a high level. O is trying. while our classes may look like we have high star rankings, we don't have enough star power on the lines. this is being addressed, and it doesn't happen overnight.

when we get closer to line talent, then you can properly evaluate the scheme difference.

Yes there is. Bama is #1 and we are #6 in current(2018) roster talent done by 247. Some people don't understand how insanely deep they are at every position.

You do realize that there is not a huge talent gap between any recruiting class ranked in the top 10?

Sure Bama may be 1, but the difference between 1 and 6 is not so great.

Now if Ed keeps bringing in classes outside the top 10, the gap will really expand.

You don't have to have THE number one class each year. You just need consistent top 5 classes.

No one will consistently out recruit Saban. Regardless though, even Les Miles was able to keep most games fairly close with Nick.

Ed O is too busy blaming his current players instead of placing the blame on himself and his crappy assistants and their lack of player development along with shitty games plans and worse offenses than Les Miles.

You have to show some form of a pulse when you play Bama and not be so chicken shite as to go for a FG just to keep from being blanked. I'm glad he missed it.

Ed's 10-3 or 11-2 record this season will not make the horrible smell of that Bama debacle go away, at least for me. Our schedule sans UGA & Bama was highly overrated, and our D was great against Nick Fitgerald.

Our putrid offensive play & rankings should give Ed some real concern, yet he says our OC is doing an excellent job. What a joke Ed Orgeron is.

That is roster talent not recruiting ranking from one year. Yes it is a lot more than you think. Most years Bama is a clear #1. The difference between #1 and #6 could mean 5 more 5 stars or 5 game changers. That's huge. Not to mention they have had like 8 straight #1 classes which makes a huge difference when LSU doesn't have top 5 classes every year
