How is this so difficult to understand? If you can’t match their talent, you have to out-scheme them.

How can ANYONE watch that garbage offensive “gameplan” Saturday and claim all we need is better line talent?

To the OPs point, you are probably right.

But there isn't nearly the talent gap that some would have us believe. Both recruiting rankings (inbound) and NFL drafts (outbound) confirm we have lots of talent.

So I suppose your "reasoning" would imply that our OL is so shitty compared to Bama's that it justifies getting shut the frick out?

You may not be able to beat them with better scheming, but at least be more competitive and put some damn points on the board.

That's absolutely right, Sir, our talent and Sabamm's are close enough to compete toe to toe. I'm not saying this season or that we have to beat them every other season, but with the right coaching it should be competitive EVERY season. I'd be happy defeating them every 3rd year. That's reasonable. shite.

We have a faction that can't accept the value of a freeze or briles system, Jack. I can't understand folks thinking that way.

The scheme is the problem.

I was saying we cant use reason with our fanbase.

I’ll settle for beating everyone else. If it were just Bama we’d only have 1 loss every year the last 7 years. That hasn’t been the case.

Well I would too, but I don't believe Ensminger can get that done.

Not on the offensive line you don't.

We have enough talent there too, Coleman, we just don't have an O.C. that knows how to design a system to enable them to get the job done.

In a freeze or dabo or briles system, their blocking assignments are much easier.

The two aren't mutually exclusive.

Talent is pretty close. Scheme is terribly lacking.

Hey J, been traveling and couldn't look at TD early in week. Was curious about Ree's defense of O, E, and the shutout. I'm sure he had some fricked up excuse. Can you give me Cliff's?

for whatever reason defense is always strong for LSU and it doesn't seem hard to recruit for defense. but we need a game changer/scheme change for offense, to recruit better for offense... we need a real QB coach/OC, if you can get good qb's then the rest of the offensive recruits will come

I'll be happy to try. If I'm not mistaken, it was late Monday or early Tuesday before Ree started crowing. He kept driving the point about injuries to the o-line and of course the suspension of Ingram. He was defensive as always and especially regarding "Slinger" Ensminger.

Wow, going back to the Ingram excuse. Big shocker.

Thanks.

No LSU doesn't Deculus can't pass block or run block. His footwork is awful because he's so slow. He's starting because they don't have anyone else. The same goes for Traore. Both may become serviceable guards but neither can cut it as tackles. Cush will become a good center he could've used more time. I wasn't able to concentrate on anyone else yet. This offensive line isn't up to LSU'S norms. Luckily they've got people that they're bringing along and some good recruits coming. Next year will be night and day compared to what they're working with now.
