Why? Taking a knee when they know we could have scored again is more humiliating and gives us sportsmanship cred.

No way. Victory formation is how u wanna end the game. Not on defense.

Taking a knee right at their goal line is more humiliating to me. Sort of says, "We could've made it look worse than it already is but we won't be that team...."

and it's good sportsmanship. Dabo would run it up as high as he could but then again, look at their schedule. It's the eye test.

There's no need for us to do it. Look at who we've played and beaten. We had nothing else to prove.

Well stated. As Dabo said, it was beautiful.

Not true.

Given the same situation, Clemson would have taken the knee just like LSU did.

Sorry I disagree. He'll run it up into the 60s or 70s if he's able.

He wasn't able to do that with UNC. Why? I have no idea. Maybe he thought he could just walk over UNC when they had a brand new coach in Mack Brown.

But look at the games after that.

He absolutely will run the score up if he's able to do so. He's already done it.

We were 2 yards from their goal line and we called it off. I have a hard time thinking Dabo would do that because they're just "little ole Clemson." He has to run the score up because they don't play anybody. He has to put up an insane amount of points so the eyeball test passes. He wants to be preseason 1, which he very well may be but in any event, that's what he'll do. He's done it for at least 2 years now.

He does it every year. This isn't to be misconstrued as Clemson being a nothing team by any means. But it does show that Dabo will run the score up if he's able to. Google the results and you'll see I'm not lying.

I'm not trying to be a jerk but here is your proof:

Clemson's ACC win schedule

They don't play anybody so Dabo has to run the score up. If he had better opponents, maybe it's different.

No one in the ACC is a threat. Maybe that'll change this season with these new head coaching hires.

IF Cade had not missed his FG, he would be been at 9 points in the game, and he needed 11 for the "most points scored in a season" record...

So, do you think EdO would've let him kick the chip-shot FG, instead of kneeling, if that was the situation?
I would guess "yes", and would have apologized for "running up the score" and explained post game that he wanted Cade York to get the scoring record...

I got the over early at 69.5, so I wanted the FG or TD, but kneeling was the right thing to do.

If Jefferson doesn’t drop that third down pass he walks into the end zone. Chase had the block on the one defender in front of him.

Dabo would have kneeled. It was the obvious, classy thing to do. Dabo is smart enough to do the classy thing when the spotlight is on.

Thinking back, now I wish we would have pulled Joe for the last kneel down so he could’ve gotten one last ovation.

No, the eyeball test is completely insignificant at that point. Maybe it's important during the season if you're trying to get the number one seed in the playoff, but they lost the game and will still be the number one team in the preseason.

It was dignified but it also cost me about $150 having taken LSU -4.5 into the overs at 70.5. I also told a partner at my firm, who has minimal interest in American football but maximum interest in gambling, and it probably cost him three times that. Alas. I still have a job, for now at least.

Considering my score prediction was 50-24, yes 49-25 would have looked really good. My selfishness aside, I was fine with the victory formation.

I honestly dont think Clemson was the best team we played. I think Bama was better. Hell Auburn and Florida put up a better fight. Even Texas fought harder than Clemson. Im just reflecting.

No. We’re already in the playoffs so, it’s not like we needed it to help us get into playoffs. No reason not to take a knee

Why would you say something like this? There is something retarded about your emotional development that requires you to demonize your opponent this way. Dabo Sweeney was in this precise situation last year, with a big lead against Bama, and he had them running the ball to run out the clock.

Not taking a knee would have looked like a completely trash move.

Clemson had a time-out left and had been letting the clock run.
