Alabama win drained the energy for following games. If not for heroics of one LSU defender it would have also been a loss at Arkansas.

I don’t think we regressed but more the odds evened out. Going 9-4 while starting with a skeleton crew is pretty impressive.

They didn’t regress. They were fatigued! Go look at the % of defensive snaps that the DL played. Lack of depth was the issue and it’ll present itself late in the season like it did.

UGA was swapping out their entire DL when able. LSU doesn’t have the bodies to do that and keep guys fresh.

In personally think the lack of depth and the mental/physical fatigue of playing beyond expectations is what finally caught up to us around the Arkansas game.
Having to play injury free, damn near mistake free and with energy is too demanding. Depth is more than needed. Daniels playing poorly at the end didnt help. There is no way our receivers felt great just being blockers , I am sure mental fatigue set up as well but just lack of enthusiasm was evident.

This is not meant as a slam to Daniels, it just takes a certain player to accept the role.

had enough game film to develop a defensive plan to stop JD

This is not difficult.

The lack of depth took a toll on the defense seemed like. Same guys playing every single snap is a lot to ask playing in the SEC

Nobody is trying to discredit the excellent job CBK has done . I think constructive criticism is OK . We lack depth and JD has limitations ( well described here ) . That being said , the future is bright for the Tigers !

I will take the SEC West, Alabama win and a January Bowl as a victory, I was predicting damn near dead last in the West. I am so damn happy.
