Maybe if the lsu offense did their job they wouldn’t have and lsu would be SEC champs.

I don’t blame the offense for much at all this year.
All the best offenses in baseball are going to have those frustrating games.
Does it suck, yes. But it’s going to happen to everyone.

The biggest concern to me is that our infield looked to be solid at the beginning of the year and they are definitely getting worse as the season ages.

We’ve been knowing about the bullpen pretty much all year. There’s really nothing to say here that hasn’t been said 100 times.

Jay has sacrificed defense for offense in the two years he’s been here

I don’t know that he’s had much other options, other than Morgan at first. Which I don’t completely hate.

If you take Tanks off of third that’s an empty bat in the lineup.
Same at second.

4-4 against the top 6 in the SEC

That’s a ridiculously arbitrary cutoff point. They went 7-2 against the 3 teams that finished 1/2 game behind SC, all of whom are in the Top 16 in the RPI. The only reason those teams finished behind Auburn and SC in the standings was LSU winning the series against them. There’s very little to separate those 5 teams. It distorts the reality of the situation to only include the teams LSU did not beat.

Agree with your sentiment, but happen to agree with OPs comment. Pinching Jones for Pearson at that spot yesterday is Jay going for a kill shot vs leaving Pearson in with a better chance of just putting the ball in play. Yes, there were RISP in this exact situation, but it still feeds into the point.

"It's like every game we find something new to batch about."
* Most talented roster in the country.
* Ranked #1 most of the season.

* Late season ultra choke jobs against SEC bottom feeders. All that talent and we don't even win the SEC Championship or the SEC West outright. That's nauseating and infuriating if you're competitive and have high standards.

* Pump Cheerleaders say "That's OK. We'll be Fine. That's just baseball. Not winning the Conference and Division is perfectly fine and Frick all the miserable Negas that don't wave pom poms with us."

* I don't like crying over spilled milk, so it's wasted energy complaining about "Coulda-Woulda-Shoulda." Just fix all the problems and get your shite together for the SEC Tournament, Regional and Super Regional......

Auburn won their last 5 series and finished 5th in the conference. Losing a road series against them wasn’t a choke. Game 3 against Miss St was a choke that primarily came down to Johnson thinking a 9 run lead was safe enough to experiment with the pitching staff with an eye toward postseason. Pure and simple if he doesn’t bring in Little, LSU wins that game and wins the conference. They also lose only one series all year and are still ranked #1 or #2. It’s amazing how many people believe the sky is falling based on that one decision.
