We need to get into a position to let Skenes skip a start.

He’s ok for now but he’s going to start to fade with this workload. At the very least I’m not pitching him in the SEC tourney.

Well, I’m glad you’re not in charge of LSU baseball

He pitching once a week. What workload?

If we’re the top seed, we need to simply bench our starters, throw the back of the BP and exit stage left.

Thoroughbreds get stronger as the race gets longer

You don’t think 100+ pitches a week is a lot?
We see it all over the country every year.
I’m not saying it’s going to injure him at this rate I’m saying to have him at his most effective come the postseason a week of rest would do a lot of good.

He throws 100-110 pitches a week. That’s not an insane workload. Plus he is a big dude with a very effortless delivery.

That’s a cute quote you got from Facebook but it isn’t based in any kind of fact.

Please don’t ever put in for the LSU head coaching job. Because you would suck

Name a pitcher on the staff that you want to give the ball to….

If he reaches his goal, he’ll be throwing every 5 days over 162 within the next year or so.
But under your theory, we need to find a way to get a pitcher not to pitch. Brilliant

Skip laughs at your theory.

That’s on top of his bullpen work during the week.
It’s more work than any of y’all are giving credit to.
You’re already seeing him laboring earlier than usual.
If you want peak Skenes in the postseason then you want him to get some rest at some point.
This isn’t unusual.

He did. He had a half game off for SC series.

You don’t have one that can do what Skenes does. That’s the point. I need Skenes capable of doing Skenes shite in July. We need a sweep or two to get him a week off.
