Urban Meyer had a quote in 05 -- his first visit -- that DBs should not be able to stick to WRs the way ours did in that game.

2011 Auburn: Gary Danielson, "They're smelling blood" game.

MSU QB -- I forget the year and name, but he was really tiny and wore No. 14 -- in the 2000s. Like Lee?

2006 Willie Tuitama, Arizona Qb

There was some college reporter who asked Arizona fans,

"Who had a tougher time, Willie Tuitama in Tiger Stadium or John McCain in Vietnam?

All the Arizona fans said Willie Tuitama.

How has no one said Tebow?

I thought Tebow handled the TS environment pretty well, for a young QB in 2007. Like Wallace, he also appreciated the environment.

After Florida's 13-3 win in 2009:

"This place is one of my favorite stadiums to play in," Tebow said. "It just gets your adrenaline going, then to play against a great defense like that."

Why were we cheering?

It was complete berserker mode, collectively.

Like, don't care, doesn't matter, not giving up, here we come to destroy you.

If you could somehow scientifically establish a maximum possible level of loudness for that situation, it had to have been at or near that, and sustained as well.

We were close to the overhang of the press box and were really getting hit with it. The cup in my hand was visibly shaking from the sound waves.

"It's probably the only time in my life I was intimidated by the crowd. A lot of great players have played in that stadium, but I don't know if any team has walked into that stadium and dealt with what we went through. From the time we landed to the time we left, I don't know if a team has ever gone through that." - Ronnie Lott

Y'all know the story about that, right? Our fans met their plane - Tigerbaited them at every stage of the trip - I don't recall if they came in on a Friday or not, but if they did, they got Tigerbaited every leg of the way - even a smaller group Tigerbaited them back to their plane to see them off. Of course they got a less kind, less gentle 70s era bus shaking that the SEC teams were used to.

Brad Budde from that 1979 USC team famously quipped - "This place makes Notre Dame (then the "Gold Standard" for what Yankees and Left Coast people thought of a big game environment) look like Romper Room."

This I did not know. Maybe some of our rowdy LSU fans can crowd out the gumps and yell as they get off the bus and go into the stadium. This hasn't been done in a long time.

Laron's hit on Tuitama

I did feel sorry for that kid. It really felt like he was going to get killed.

quote:

Tuitama finished 8-for-17 for 50 yards and two interceptions. He was lifted late in the third quarter because team trainers were trying to determine whether he had a concussion from Landry's hit.

"It looked like he might have a concussion. I don't know, but he wasn't in sync again," Stoops said. "He's been struggling and a team like LSU can really get after the quarterback."

Correct me if I am wrong, but I remember Eli Manning coming into Tiger Stadium with a Heisman and leaving without it.

But they were 6-0 in SEC and a win would have sent them to SEC championship game.

Auburn LSU 1995

This was the loudest and greatest game I ever attended in Tiger Stadium.
Simply ELECTRIC!
