There’s been a lot of really bad swings of late, hard to argue that but that doesn’t constitute a bad approach. I think it mostly exposes the fact that we have easy outs in the lineup so the opposing pitching can work around whatever threats we still have in the lineup.
Then our better hitters are pressing knowing they have to get it done because there’s less than expected behind them.
Someone posted it before, if we had the lineup of choice the whole team would be hitting better / have a better ‘approach’
There’s still a lot of ball to play.

I have to agree with you on this. There is absolutely nothing easier than knowing for sure that a fastball will be over the plate. I mean how hard can it be? When the pitcher releases you know in that very instant that it is a fastball. And you know exactly where it will wind up so you know way before it gets to the plate if it is hittable.

Pretty much the same with breaking balls. Here again how hard can it possibly be? You know it is a breaking ball, where, when and how much it will break from the instant it leaves the pitcher's hand. How stupid is it to swing at it when you know damn well it will be out of the zone.

Man what are you doing posting here? You need to take that knowledge to CPM and get rid of that dullard he is using as a hitting coach and install you instead. WTF are you waiting for. The team needs you.

It is bull shite that mainieri only hires ex players for everything but pitching. It’s obvious he’s not getting the best. Get out there and hire some coaches with real experience that can recruit. I know last year we were in a jam but why didn’t we replace Cannizzaro this year with someone of equal quality?

Probably wants inexperienced coaches so they don't show him up kind of like Canny did

Yeah. He sure show Mainieri up. He also showed LSU didn't he. What a great coach. I wish we still had him instead of Mainieri. It would be nice if our head coach focused all his attention on poon instead of actually running the term. What a great season State is having. They are obviously CWS material. And the way State swept us every game we played last year? I guess Mainieri was too caught up in that feud.

I will say this. Broussard’s dad is the best hitting coach I’ve been around. Bet he could seriously contribute.

Gibbs issue right before start of season would have made it harder for them to find anyone. Without Dunn, this team would be in bad shape. It is time for PM to think outside the box for hitting coach. Same thing when Sanchez was here.

Let’s be honest. That was Ochinko’s career.

Mainieri - 5
Cannizaro - 0

You're really dumb.

The results indicate the players are not executing. I’m not sure what they are taught but it’s not what they have been doing lately.

Smith and Broussard being out is crushing this lineup. Not just having them not in but Watson, Cabrera, and Bain are batting out of place.

Smith
Broussard
Duplantis
Watson
Beau
Cabrera
Feduccia
And two out of Bain/Slaughter/Reid/Hughes

That is a completely different lineup that could be dangerous.

This ^. The crazy thing is no-one on here gets it.

You realize his team played in the Supers and he lost almost his whole pitching staff?

So, how did "Canny" show Mainieri up as you claimed?

The title of the thread is hitting coach. Canny is much better than what we have. Not my fault you think chasing tail is a problem trumps coaching hitters
