What was Saban’s record before LSU? What was O’s?

That has what to do with how bad the Troy loss was?

Yes. One coach’s track record and the state of the program when he took over suggests that such a loss is an abberation. The other suggests that it is more of the norm.

Using that logic we should have lost to Florida, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Tx A&M and a few others!

You people are thinking/speaking in absolutes. The Troy loss was a fluke IMO. If we play them 10 times we beat 9 out of ten...but there is ALWAYS going to be that slim possibility that the impossible can happen in that one particular game....where....we underestimated them.....played sloppy...had a head coach meddling....had a D that had a sub-par night. I mean shite like that CAN happen every once in a while.

LSU is not THAT special or THAT good that we are above getting beat by team like Troy.

Ya think Clemson over-looked Cuse?

What about Michigan taking the game off against Appy State....at HOME.

Shite like the Troy loss CAN HAPPEN....that doesnt mean it should...but it can and it did.

Some of y'all need to quit acting like fking martians landed in the middle of TS.

Saban prior to losing to UAB

turned the Cleveland Browns into the #1 defense in the NFL

took over a Michigan State program coming off sanctions and had them finish top 10

Ed Orgeron Prior To losing to troy

had never in his life proven he can run a successful side of the ball let alone a successful program

the last time anyone let ed orgeron make long term decisions at a program it ended in the worst tenure ever at program full of shite tenures

BUT YEAH I CAN SEE THE SIMILARITIES

Yeah Troy was a good team. And lsu lost to every good team they played other than auburn who completely came apart. So what does that make lsu?

So Saban's loss is even more inexcusable since he's a much better coach than Orgeron. I guess he just didn't care about that game.

but ed Orgeron's career is built upon these type of losses

we haven't lost to a mid major in 16 years

as bad as you think Cuse is, they have twice as many players with a NFL draft grade than troy.

Saban took over a roster with 2 straight losing seasons.

O took over a roster that he said was going to make the playoffs this year....

and before you say it...

no.... coaches don't publicly claim that they are going to make the playoffs

We did not play well. We were banged up. But, people love to just overlook the fact, that like it or not, Troy was a quality opponent. At season end, Troy was the Sunbelt champion and 12-2. USA Today at year end had Troy ranked 18th best team in the nation. They boasted a solid passing game. Strong in the trenches.

I was answering Rickdaddy who mentioned Saban in his post. Was I supposed to pretend that he said Wisconsin or something?
