wasn't ULM and MSU both in the same year, ie, the rebuilding year?

miles didn't have to rebuild LSU. you're choosing outliers, and they're not exactly fair

Saban bailed to the Dolphins for the $
Les stayed for the team.
Forget my leadership opinion, what price do you put on loyalty? !

If this statement is true, why would you take Petrino over Miles. Sorry that is not consistant.

As for results, Nothing to be disappointed in 64 wins in 6+ years now. 2 sec champ game appearances, an sec title and a bcs title.

What results are you referring to? Offense rank?

Never really figured you for the type of person that believes LSU should never lose and it is championship or bust every season. That isn't logical.

No coach is perfect. Many like SFP, expect perfection. That is a standard that no other coach is held to. It is illogical. You really should think about enjoying these elite times of LSU football before it is over one day.

This...
And, Les has been here seven fricking years now. Saban has not, and never will be in one place that long. I was as pissed as anyone at Les after the Ole Miss debacle in '09, but his loyalty to LSU and consistent winning has won me over.

Bama and LSU are comparable. in-state talent and financial resources

Arkansas is below both schools in both areas. it's not really comparable

imagine what Petrino could do at a school like LSU, Bama, Florida, Texas, etc

i'm not diminishing his accomplishments, but saban's are better. that's all i'm saying

urban meyer's were better, so were carroll's...but both are gone

No you were talking about pure on the field results. That has nothing to do with recruiting grounds and resources. By the way, Arky has all the resources they need with Walmart and Tyson foods. Check out the facilities.

I do agree that Petrino could win a title at LSU, but remember it's about the whole picture. The man is basically banned from the NFL for walking out on a contract. LES does not walk ... he's all LSU and thats cool with me.

man that 2005/2006 LSU team with him running the offense would have been sick-nasty

i also presume the boosters would have made him ditch his DC and hire bo p, but that may have been different

Satan didn't even say good-bye to his players! No Class!

Satan didn't even say good-by to his coaches! No class!

Satan makes it offical just in time to ruin every young LSU fans Christmas. No class! Couldn't wait one day!

Satan is introduced as the football coach at the Alabama LSU basketball game. No class!

Satan says he thinks he might have made a mistake coming to LSU before he even arrives here... and that isn't a problem but letting it get out to the media is unbelievable. No Class!

Satan is the opposite of class!

No.You're too myopic...bad issue spotting and analysis is showing. I've been talking openly about the present day best leader of a BCS team...you can't issue spot worth shite.(hence my 103 comment).

well shite if we're limiting this discussion to the "present day" then miles IS the best, as he has the best win of the year

NOT even close. Give me any other SEC coach with our talent. I'm sick of our non-existant offense.

Since we are talking hypotheticals and opinions, I feel from just watching Petrino and seeing his personality, I truly believe that he would have lost the team during the katrina/Rita season of 2005.

To me, that season might have been the best season of coaching Miles has had so far and I feel he should get more credit for that.

I couldn't see petrino holding a team together like that.
