Proven or unproven the LSU QB room is "stacked". Now the "we" you are referring to is likely not.

Actually, the bottom half of the LSU QB room is stacked. The upper half, not so much.

The experts say we are going 7-5 bc we have no QB

With Nussmeier at the helm at QB, LSU is not going 7 & 5. With Brennan or Daniels at the helm at QB, all bets are off.

You think our group is any less talented than what BK had to work with at ND? I think not. Let’s see how they do with coaching.

Brian Kelly has never had more talented QBs than Garrett Nussmeier and Walker Howard to work with in his entire coaching career.

Yeah, the bottom half. The upper half, not so much.

You keep repeating the same question over and over again ad nauseam and I keep repeating the same answer over and over again ad nauseam, the bottom half is extremely stacked. The upper half, not so much.

Brennan led the SEC in passing before he was injured.

Let's be honest in our assessments, shall we. Brennan led the SEC in passing while losing two of three games to the worse teams in the SEC in probably decades and let's not forget that the Mizzou team in which Brennan lost to, had over half its defense sidelined due to Covid protocols.

No, we don't all know Brennan can sling it when not under pressure and in which in the SEC is very rare. However, we all also know, unless we were hiding under a rock, that he is a statue in the pocket that is easily sacked, easily forced into making bad throws, and that he is an exceedingly slow and very indecisive decision maker at the same time. Other than that though, he is, I guess, a pretty good junior varsity QB. The last thing he is though, is an SEC caliber QB or even a future NFL QB.

quote:

Daniels had a great Freshman season and then struggled with a program in disarray.

Daniels career stats of just over 6,000 yards with only a measly 32 touchdowns in three years is exceedingly mediocre at best. Then last year Daniels threw for only 10 touchdowns. However, at the same time, he also thew 10 interceptions, which is atrocious.

Indeed, when you put Daniels experience under the microscope of scrutiny, it reveals that he has not only regressed each and every year he has been a college football QB, but he is also an exceedingly mediocre QB at the same time.

Meanwhile, Nuss and Howard are both future first round talents with elite arms.

Hence, the upper half of the QB room sucks to high heaven, while the bottom half is off the charts.

We have one guy who played behind the arguably best of all time. I’m betting we see if he soaked up everything as a mentee.

Well, it’s nice to read an assessment without much negative hyperbole. I have a one word counter. Coaching. QB is still the most important position but we won’t have to live and die by it to win. I don’t think we will win every game this year but it will feel like it. This team will be back in the mix for SEC dominance.

Let's not forget he lost two out of those three games. He also embarrassed himself thoroughly against a very atrocious Moo State team, but came back strong the next week to beat the worse Vanderbilt in several decades and for that he should have at least won a Heisman trophy, and then he finished up by failing to convert a third or fourth down against Mizzou and then had a first and goal to goal from the one yard line with the game on the line and he still couldn't punch it into the end zone for the win, and never mind the fact that Mizzou had over half its defensive starters sidelined for the game due of Covid protocols.

Is Brennan a SEC caliber QB? Hell freaking no!

Brennan is still 2/10 of a second slow on his delivery and telegraphs his throws. That will be a problem.

Do we? A guy who tackled himself and has been on the team for 47 years with 5? starts? A guy who went 10 and 10 last year on td to int ratio? A completely unproven guy in Nuss? This is why we’re projected 7-5. We have no proven QB

Or you could say a guy that was a top 3 QB statistically in the league before he was injured with a brand new OC in his first job as OC. No defense and No running game to speak of and a horrible Oline.

As much as I believe Nuss is the future, Brennan may have been 1-2 but his numbers were fantastic before his injury.

Now he has a real coach with a real OC and a real DC and a real Oline.

I get the 7-5 or 8-4 prediction because that is where I ranked them to finish but it wasn’t for the offense. It is the secondary and LB position that will be the downfall of this team. Kelly will need to go more run than pass to minimize exposure to that group.
If Dwight McGlothern had stuck around, I would feel a lot better. They simply are t deep there and the talent is not what we are used to. Scheme will mean EVERYTHING. No more press man and let the DBs be exposed to 1:1.

I hope I’m wrong.
