LSU @ Texas in 2019 was incredible. Gridlock for hours after the game. I know tRant says contraflow doesn't work but it really isn't that bad compared to lots of other cities.

no, I honestly haven’t. Sounds like a you problem, assuming you even attend games.

Being forced to stay hours after the game needs to not sit in traffic is not a plan for "beating" traffic.

This is hilarious. You may as well be saying rush hour traffic isn't a thing while also saying you don't leave the office until 7pm.

It's traffic! Took me almost 1.5hrs to get from Alex Box to I-!0 going down Burbank... horrible! We stayed til the end of the game since the stadium cleared out thinking it would be good.... it was not!

Traffic is something to reckon with.. and it really is a factor .. contra flow is also a pain if you live close to campus.. you can not get your car to your residence and cops will not let you through even if you show your address.. I use to walk home and then go back and pick my car up after I took a shower and cooled off and contra flow was done. ..
I now just walk to stadium and back home .. I can not fault anyone commenting on the traffic chaos.

Very few of the people leaving early would post on a website like this. They are mostly casual fans. If I'm paying to see a game, I'm gonna enjoy the whole game regardless of the outcome, good or bad. Because I have a genuine interest in the program down to the 3rd string guys/freshman that will be the future of the program. It's just a different mindset. I wish everyone would stay til the end but I don't see it ever changing.

Maybe don't go down Burbank.

I stayed till the end of the UGA/Bama game, caught the bus to the Softball field, pulled out of the parking lot at 11:07 and was home before 11:40.

Just wondering why this mindset is still prevalent at LSU?

Fans with young children tend to use the South Alabama/Nicholls St. games to begin the LSU indoctrination process, so you will inevitably see mass departures starting at halftime as the evening hour gets late. UCLA was a unique situation with the extreme heat for the East stands. But in the end, it's really no one's damn business but the fan with a ticket as to how it is used. Get over it.

Oxford and Tuscaloosa are gridlocked after games if you are trying to leave from inside of campus

And at each of those you can park a 15 min walk from the stadium and be clear of traffic in 15 mins. Thats not possible at LSU unless you park in someone’s yard off the president streets north of campus and head north after the game.

BR's post-game traffic is NO worse than other stadiums

You are literally making this up

It doesn’t come close

People don’t want to sit in traffic for a seemingly indefinite amount of time after shitty games that were decided in the 3rd quarter

"Get over it"? Then we need to stop pounding our chests & saying how great Tiger Stadium is, "best atmosphere in college football", etc etc. As for traffic, AU is in a small town, big stadium, seemingly always packed & I never hear their fans complaining about traffic there.

I've never understood why this bothers people, especially for these dogshit, rent a win games.

Then don’t come at all. Give your tickets to a real fan who will come and stay and support the team. They work year around, and dealing with slow traffic a few times a year is just one way to reward them for such hard work.

I live in Austin and can tell you that leaving from a UT game it takes 1-2 hours to get out of that mess after you get to your car.

I call BS on BR traffic being worse that every where.

Been to games at south carolina and penn state. Was just as bad. No city has infrastructure for 70,000 cars leaving the same place at the same time

I'm not sure why I'm even wasting my time responding to you Staying on campus to "not sit in traffic" is some of the worst logic I've seen posted here.

Laughing at stupid logic isn't bitching. Acknowledging that LSU has a traffic problem that other SEC schools don't isn't bitching.

For the record, I typically do like you do when I go to games and just hang out instead of spending that same time sitting stuck in the car. But as I've said, that doesn't make the traffic magically not exist.

I have been to games at Ohio State, Penn State, Notre Dame, the Rose Bowl (ok, shouldn't count LA), Tennessee, Florida, South Carolina, T A&M, etc. and ALL had solid traffic, many of which compared to BR.

The difference between entertainment and school spirit is that when games are no longer entertaining people seek to do something they find more important. Be glad they purchased the ticket and are supporting the school financially with their entertainment dollars.

I don’t disagree but there is an argument to be made that as college football becomes more and more corporate and NFL like along with NIL, transfer portals, etc - that “school spirit” is going by the wayside along with it….
