I get them being number one last week but calling bullshite on this. I just talked to guys on SiriusXM football about this and they basically said they have already made up their mind and the only issue is who will be number 4. Even if Ohio State LSU and Clemson all lose it is done. Unless Ohio State loses and we win we are number 2 going to the fricking desert to play Clemson.

Right after I called the expert on this from ESPN said that the big ten reps were running the show this year. ( After stressing how fair they are and other bullshite. )

The shite about the defense is complete bulllshit, the resume test is also complete bullshite. It’s all the eye test guided by big ten reps

I disagree with your theory. If we beat Georgia we most likely move back ahead of Ohio St in the CFP poll

I just really dont see that happening

Look at where the committee rigged the rankings for Wisconsin, Michigan, Penn St, and Cincinnati. They have already made up their mind

I’m not so sure...

Once we win, we will have 4 wins against top 10 teams in Sunday’s final ranking. Either OU/ Baylor drops out of top ten. Whisky drops once they’re beaten by OSU. This leaves the following teams in the top ten:

LSU
OSU
Clemson
OU/ Baylor
Georgia:W
Florida: W
Auburn: W
Bama: W
Penn State
Utah/ Oregon

Using this matrix, OSU only has 1 win against a top 10 team in the final rankings (provided Penn State is there), while LSU has 4.

The storyline for an LSU vs OSU natty game would be a real moneymaker. Everybody knows that.

Not happening. The committee manipulates the rankings to support their own agenda.

They kept OSU's opponents highly ranked (despite losses) and vaulted Wisconsin up to #8 to give OSU a nice quality win this weekend.

They decided weeks ago that they wanted Ohio State at #1 and nothing LSU can do will change that.

Ranked wins is only one part of the protocol. It's not everything.

a good argument could still be made that they have been more dominant on both sides of the ball than we have, but I would still think we move back ahead of them with a win over Georgia (if our defense looks halfway decent in the game)

Yes, don’t forget the “complete team” card the Committee can pull out their a** as needed.

What a joke.

right, the goal in part at least, is to get the 4 best teams and rank them in order. I could see a toss up between us and Ohio St as to being the best team. We would have the stronger SOS but they would have been more dominant

The SOS differences are marginal. Both faced 8 bowl eligible teams and both will have beat 4 ranked teams or so with minor differences in where they fell.

The margins in those games are not similar though. As was said...

OSU vs ranked = 28 ppg margin of victory
LSU vs ranked = 7 ppg

OSU vs bowl eligible = 34 ppg margin of victory
LSU vs bowl eligible = 22 ppg

Ultimately, you have to decide whether a minor differences in ranked wins is more valuable than how the teams actually looked on the field because as good as LSU looked... OSU has looked better and has done in it in seriously shitty weather conditions for basically most of the 2nd half of the season. If eye test and actually watching the games matters, it's not unreasonable that committee members would have OSU ahead.

I agree and as much as I would like to see LSU #1, I can easily see why they would go with Ohio St.

The committee does not want osu to have to play BOTH LSU AND Clemson.
