I have been a defender of Mile's through every loss. No more. Really don't see things getting better on here. No adjustments to our players strengths. No adjustments on D. He is literally marching the team out every week witht he same exact gameplan. Two actual games in a row, we were made to be a laughing stock. Maybe everyone else will start to see by season's end.

To me, the problem is losing the talent evaluation skills of Ron Cooper.
We hired a great technical coach as a replacement (and our secondary really has had good technique with Raymond) and he's is a good recruiter too, he is good at getting the guys we target.
Therein lies the problem though IMO. We are not identifying the elite players as early as we used to. We blanket offer all of the big names like everyone else in the country, but we aren't getting a jump on these kids.
Cooper is missed badly.
I couldn't help but ask myself this morning how different this team would look if a Saban wasn't the greatest recruiter in cfb history and back at Alabama.
Just consider a few Louisiana kids he has beaten us for (and I can't fault anyone for this, it is what it is, Saban is the GOAT recruiter)
Landon Collins in martins spot.
Tim Williams over rasco
Devall at mike
Cam rob on the line
We are not nearly as talented as we used to be. Oh well.
This has been my fear for a few years. Alabama has a scouting department that rivals and surpasses nfl squads. They have a genius at marketing handling their propaganda. Guess we are cool with the 300k budget still though since we don't travel as much as them

Yes, after LSU lost to UAB, LSU fans were saying it was the end of the world.
Nah. You are detached from reality if you think the situation we are in now is just business as usual. You have to go back to DiNardo's last two years to find an equivalent.
But your sig quote says all anyone needs to know. Keep up the good fight.

Alabama cheats at recruiting and always has.

Neither does throwing incomplete passes. Running it and getting 3 and outs are better than throwing. Running runs clock. Missed passes don't. Our qbs were way off on Saturday.
Oh I didn't know running clock when down by 30 is the new meta. You have Down syndrome. Stop posting.
Harris is capable of passing. Jordan Hare is a very tough environment to play in. I would have kept throwing until he got into a rhythm. Open up the game with bubbles, wide receiver screens, hitches and work your way down the route tree- that would have opened up the run game. If they would have stuck to running... Why didn't they just simply run out of the spread? It's much easier. There would be more man blocking on the outside and the box would not be so loaded. How does a person that makes 4mil/year not realize this???

This x 1000.
Week in and week out, regardless of opponent, it's the same old crap. The bottom line is, for whatever reason, the game plan isn't working. Rather than tweak it, we just keep doing the same damn things over and over. It's insane! How is it that a former pro OC can't come up with something, ANYTHING, that works??

If Miles will throw away his offensive play sheet, we'll be a lot closer to where we need to be.
The 3rd and 7 run to Magee on the first series, the 3rd and 15 QB draw and the poo toss into a brick wall over and over isn't moving us closer to where we need to be.

Well, there's no doubt that playing pitch and catch has been a problem, too.
So, most teams that need the pass to set up the run due to inadequate line play, or a young QB, will coordinate a system that uses the short passing game, screens and hitches, to give the QB a chance to find a rhythm.
We Do NOT have a passing game coordinator. Our route stems are antiquated for middle school teams. Even when we use 3 wideouts, 2 are holding hands and all are standing still or running go routes when the QB habitually breaks right out of the pocket.
The coordination and game planning in this program is not equal to the staff's level of compensation to put it mildly.

Dear Les,
We were constantly about 80 yards away from where we needed to be on offense.

But running the damn ball 3 straight times, going 3 and out, sends the message to Harris that the coaches have no confidence in him.
Try saying that in low tones while sitting in the lotus position and burning candles and incense. I bet you reach nirvana.
But back to reality; no, it doesn't.

"You are 100% correct, but you can't talk to these clowns on here.....they don't want to hear anything positive, or anything that may right the ship....they want misery, and want to be able to gripe and complain. I don't hear anyone talking about Alabama only scoring 10 points against Ole Miss."
How 'bout we SEE something positive on the field and scoreboard? Even us clowns know 41 >>> 7.
OK, I take consolation that Bama only scored 10 vs OM. There. Maybe we should have called TO before the half and kicked the FG - would have matched Bama!

When you come to your sense, you'll realize that it's the LSU fans that make themselves laughingstock. We seem to lack perspective and say the dumbest shite day in and day out.
Miles got dealt a 7,2 off suit. There's not much he can do - and he's a terrible bluffer. Thing is, you can't fold in the this game. The best he can do is check.

We could possibly be a good offensive team. We are hopeless on D, maybe Les is concentrating in the positives!

Also said we had great offensive and defensive line play./quote
That's does it, he's gone senile
to be fair, given the inability of the offense to gain positive yards, we only allowed 7 tackles for loss (including one sack) for a total loss of 16 yards. that ain't something to brag about but, given that the O was piss poor, i would expect those numbers to be higher if the offense suffered as the result of poor line play.
to miles' credit, i think that a lot of you here on the rant are taking this quote to the extreme. the way i interpret what he's saying is that the offense isn't making clear mistakes; they're just not converting. and that's true. there were zero fumbles and zero interceptions. like the others have said before me, if we'd connected on some of the drops and overthrown passes, it wouldn't have seemed as anemic -even if we'd still lost by the same final score. it was harris' first start. he's 18 or 19 years old and didn't have a great game. that sucks, but i think we'll all be really happy about our O production once the light really comes on for him.
the D is the real problem.

Good post, but I'm not ready yet to pass judgment on our last two classes in terms of talent. While Cooper may have found some diamonds in the rough in that 2012 class, we still landed some good talent in 2013 & 14. This class could also shape up to be another top 5-10 class.

I don't, I think we're suffering badly from attrition to the NFL.
What's business as usual are the sky is falling LSU fans every time something goes wrong.
Saban saw it in our fan base right off the bat and told us to fight the catastrophe syndrome urge. We have forgotten his lesson. That week after the UAB loss was BAD.
ETA: Oh yeah, thanks for the sig compliment, I just changed it today so no one would get the wrong impression.

Some of you guys are just going on blind hatred.
If Jennings or Harris (especially last game) can make some throws, both games could have been different.
Both I believe would have been losses, but different paths to the end.
We are a young team with young players at key positions. NFL has finally caught up with us. Losing even those average players (those who were drafted in the 4th to 5th rounds to free agency) If you can't accept that fact, then you live in a la-la world.
