Wow, you probably should have started studying before 8pm

Miles is the laughing stock...
Yeah, but he's our "laughing stock". At least until those at LSU far more powerful (and, for that matter, far more deep pocketed alumnus) than me and mine up and do something. Unless and until that time should come, while not unaware of either the coaching staff or some of the team's shortcomings, CLM is still our "laughing stock", damnit! ... and those are still our LSU Tigahs!
Kinda like your crazy ol' uncle or Louisiana politics or some of the weird crap we've been asked up north about our home state, especially since Katrina. I know we ain't perfect, but it's my home state and screw any damn yankee that disses it from the outside looking in! (Especially while our oil and natural gas keep their cars on the road and their homes warm in winter.)

I'm loving all this feedback from fellow alumni.
Fans may be fanatical in their passion for LSU, but only an alumnus knows the love that we learned to know at LSU. To love LSU just as much as you love a spouse, a parent or a child. To me, LSU is a family member. I loved LSU as a boy growing up in Red Stick, but not nearly as much as I loved it after walking through the Quad under those stately oaks as I pursued my degree and on Saturday nights to and from the student section in Tiger Stadium. Hearing our band play the alma mater always gives me a chill and makes my eyes water.

And sadly some will never understand a word of this. You are either a TIGER or you’re not. If not, stop embarrassing my alma mater. We, THE TIGERS, would rather not have you around. You have my pity.
Here, here!!!!!!!!!
I have remarked quite a few times this week how I would rather have the stands half empty and cheerful than have them full of miserable douchebags.
...and being an alum does make you appreciate just being on that campus and being able to watch the Tigers play one more time. It's about actually being there on campus and in that stadium that keeps me coming back. Not the Tiger's record.

Aw, shucks, now I'm even more homesick than I perpetually am anyway. We - me and my spouse before the "I do's" - were too young and stupid, too focused on getting those degrees and getting on to the rest of our graduate and postgraduate studies and such to appreciate the memories we were making at LSU way back when.
In spite of all the demanding studying our coursework required, we never missed a Saturday night in Tigah stadium, not ever. That was party time!
I want s'more SEC and national championships, I do, and I want a perennial powerhouse, but come what may, it will always be our LSU and our Tigahs!

I love it! Great post. I concur entirely.
I especially like how so far not one douchebag Negatiger has posted on here about how they demand excellence & refuse to accept mediocrity.
Enjoy the games. Cheer when we win. Cry when we lose. Support the Tigers win or lose....ALL the Tigers.

quote:You got it right at this point, engineer. But that you give weight to what a knucklehead says about how he thinks our fans feel about our team, and parlayed that into a high and mighty lecture delivered here to those who actually love the team, love the school, love the traditions, and bleed purple and gold at least as much as yourself, if not more, is over the top. The DJ is a knucklehead. Don't join in on his club.
some local knucklehead DJ’s talk
Let me posit an alternative thought for you and the midwest knucklehead DJ to chew on. No LSU fan thinks LSU sucks. But some LSU fans may have the sense that something about the coaching of our beloved LSU team does suck. And some LSU fans may be so passionate that they might express their frustration loudly, at least across the threads of this Rant. That does not, however, mean that these LSU fans think that LSU sucks, or that they hate the team. That too would be over the top.

I would venture that most of the negatigers are non-LSU alumni

I would venture that you're an idiot. While I'm not an alum, I've had to sit and listen to several of them bitch and moan about the state of our offense.
Please spare us the.......... alumni versus non alumni shite again.

Guys, there is some truth in what you say...
but the Midwest..always will find an excuse to be critical of the SEC and/or any one of its teams..
the West coast will do the same.
if it is not that..it will be something else.
most announcers will also try to criticize and/or dismiss us and the SEC...SPORT POLITICS

For those that think booing is unacceptable, I have a solution:
When the boo birds come out Saturday, chant LSU, LSU, LSU. You'll show your team and the country that despite a bunch of knuckleheads, LSU has the best fans in the world!

Awesome post but they won't stop. They really believe they are behaving this way for the good of the program. I just don't see how you can behave this way and think it will in the long run help our great program.
