I said OC is more important than DC in CFB now. I never said DC is not important. My point was that the Peetz hiring will have more to do with future W's/L's than the DC will. I was sharing an opinion based on empirical data that suggests I'm correct. To say that it's a stupid take is a little over the top but that's your opinion.
Oh and my take was "ignorant" not "stupid". Wanted to get that right. I wanted Freeman too but I still think Peetz was going to be the more impactful of the two, but we'll never know.

We average 4 games within 1 score per season. Damn near every year. Look at who we play every year - the SEC West
Offenses are ahead right now. And the rules have changed the ways you can defend nowadays and it shows.
So the defenses are still trying to catch up to what's being thrown at them.

hope we get a young motivator
I truly don’t understand the recent Rant obsession with having young coordinators.
I’d take Saban in a heartbeat, and he ain’t young.

Every other DC in the country had the same issues to deal with.
Very, very few of them fielded worse defenses.
Think about that the next time that you want to point to the externals to blame for Pellini’s product last season.

Ha ain't available either
It's the motivational part that's most important. Young guys are generally more energetic, though that's certainly not absolute. I think it's the "Joe Brady" effect. When someone shows up and takes the CFB world by storm like he did, I think it's only natural to try and emulate that model. From listening to Peetz, he certainly has the communication skills to pull it off and seems like he will also be a tremendous motivator.

Pelini fielded the worst defense in LSU history by nearly an entire touchdown per game! He gave up 10ppg more than Teppers defenses. That clown you’re responding to continues to make up fantasies and unprovable scenarios to protect someone. This is why you can’t take half the rant seriously anymore, the focus is always protecting a single person and never about the well being of the program itself.

yes, the game has changed and the SEC has caught up. However, we cannot be as bad as we were under Pelini. That is un-winnable unless Burrow & crew are leading the squad--even then, would be a tough task.

This is dumb.... scoring 45 points is meaningless if you give up 50.

with the o line being able to basically hold every play and rub and pick patterns in every play....dah.....

Well, that explains a lot of these posts.

You cannot be serious.
Every other DC was Missing the equivalent to this?
Stingley
TK McClendon
N. Farrell
Nelson Jenkins
Donte Starks
Ika
Shelvin
Ray Parker
Kary Vincent
I really don’t expect you to be honest with me if you aren’t going to be honest with yourself.
Say whatever you want.
