I think he does a good job. Getting better...hard replacing a legend.

Listen to the Florida guy from their game winner during Saturday's basketball game, then listen to Chris Blair when Waters hit the three to beat A&M. That's all you need to know.

I like the former.

I'm a little older but for me nobody tops John Ferguson & Walter Hill.

He talks very clear and is very professional. Honestly he should probably be a broadcaster for ESPN or someone like that because he sounds that good.

He doesn’t have the pride in LSU alike Hawthorne did but he is from out of state so that is expected but overall I like him a lot as an announcer

I want Blair to have this type of excitement about him.

I've seen NFL pbp guys with more excitement than Blair, and you know they're neutral...

He is adequate. Hawthorne was the best.

He has a great voice but there’s no passion. I’d take Jim anyday just because of that

John Ferguson and Jim Hawthorne had distinct voices. You knew it was LSU. They sounded like the Voice of the Tigers.

Blais sounds like a MLB or Fox Baseball guy. Exactly. That is his type of distinction.

He is a Pro, but I never see him being identified as the true "Voice of the Tigers" in any real sense, and even with us getting familiar with him over many years...aside from it being his technical role.

No, we just hate people like you who feel the need to point out how stupid everyone is. The over-generalization gives it away.

I love LSU. I don't like people who aren't cut out for their jobs working at LSU. That includes Board of Supervisors members, presidents, athletic directors, coaches, broadcasters, you name it. If they're good, I'm happy. If they're not, I have no problem voicing my opinion that they're not good enough for LSU.

We should all (and many of us do) have that passion for LSU.

Wish he was more emotionally attached to the program. This is the one position where “he’s one of us” actually works.

Mick Huber makes me want to puke every time he says "oh my". His call of that play vs. Missouri was awful.

He's only going to improve. Every single broadcast he's learning more about just how wonderful LSU is.
Hawthorne is a graduate of NSULA, but a LA guy. He's always known about how great LSU is. He was on the mic for the purple & gold for what, 40 years?

Comparing him to the new guy from out of state is a bit premature. He makes minimal miss-calls, gives great info & insight, in addition to having to learn everything he can about everyone he covers in such a short amount of time while also learning LSU sports history.

Be thankful we don't have backwoods marblemouth homers like Auburn, Kentucky, & South Carolina. Sheesh.

He's going to get there & in 20 years he will be the new "voice of the Tigers".

great info & insight,

Sometimes I think he says too much and doesn't involve his color men as much as he should. I will say he does let Brady talk, but I don't think he includes Doug and Gordy nearly as much as he should for football.

I can agree with that. But to your point, it's sometimes. To my point, it's year 2.

Are/were any of us Top 10 in the country at what we do/did by year 2 of our hiring...? If we are/were, we wouldn't be posting anonymously on a fan sports forum.
