speedy, you posting the ubiquitous "les miles" post this sunday???
Posted on 10/6/12 at 10:26 pm to supatigah
Someone needs to get Les a seeing eye dog cause he sure ain't seeing it
Posted on 10/6/12 at 10:27 pm to chRxis
He doesn't like to update the loss column

This is a poorly coached offensive football team.Chavis needs to be complemented with a legit OC who is allowed to earn his pay.

I would like to see them stop the no huddle nonsense. It gets worse when they try to be clever.
Posted on 10/6/12 at 10:33 pm to FightinTiga
How much money do we realistically have for this though.
Posted on 10/6/12 at 10:34 pm to supatigah
of course not...
that doesn't jive with the intended purpose of the fricking thread, but i still think it's shitass, nonetheless, to proclaim that shite from the mountain tops when we win, and act like it doesn't fricking exist when we lose...
if you want to vehemently support the sorry fricker in the first place, support him even after his shitty performance as a coach when he loses games that we SHOULD win...

That is an offseason topic
We still have 6 games left, what do they do now?

Agreed
You are a smart poster, what scheme do you run for the rest of this season?
Hanagriff and Risher both said in the post game they don't have an answer to this question. Every scheme mentioned in the OP has serious problems. Run a mix of all of them like we have been and it might get even worse

I honestly do not see how it can get worse. You got 6 points today and 10 at Auburn. Tell me how it gets worse.

I'll take a crack at answering this.
Even though we probably can't revise the playbook considerably at this juncture here are some things we can try:
1) Use Bolden or Randall for a series or so - this changes the pace, keeps the D off guard, and perhaps most importantly lets Mett see the O from the sideline.
2) Keep RS10 on the field at all times. He's the best playmaker we've got and we need to make the D account for him at all times.
3) Be more creative in playcalling, e.g., throw deep on 1st down.
4) OBJ needs a rest. He's in a soph slump.

if we lose to USCe I like the Mett shotgun 4 wide idea. Switch some folks around to WR. Try to find something and get Mett work.

1) I like it - are either of them ready for that this late in the season? Tough stretch to start experimenting with guys who haven't played but it is something to consider
2) good idea, he doesn't play as much because he doesn't block as well but if we are running power I so damn much the WRs don't have to block as much
3) good idea, I assume you are wanting this out if the I. Mett needs a crash course on ball handling and better executing the fake in PA. This is fixable but means we are probably running one or two WR routes
4) agreed, whatever happened to Armand Williams? Wright and Boone are over 6'0 but they seem to play smaller than they are

It can get worse and we lose to a TAMU, or Ole Miss or Miss State. Everybody watches film, right?
No shame in losing to Florida or Bama or even USCe at home with the injuries and scheme problems we have
We have serious work to do to get to 9-3 or 8-4

Gotta get rid of the ball quickly like we did on the first drive today.
The O line can't protect, the QB is slow of foot and can't escape when it goes bad in the pocket, and the WR's are just horrible. When Mett rolls, no one is doing anything to get open. Watch the receivers when Mett rolls, it's appalling.
LSU is going to have to get creative with the offense and on passing plays go to those three step drops. Too many problems to run a conventional offense.

You said it brother

We're either going to have to go super conservative, and rely on well timed play action, or go to a quick tempo passing offense that gets the ball out of Mett's hands asap.

Good point
I started this thread in the aftermath of the game when every thread was fire stud, its miles offense etc
It is easy to say that stuff but in reality WTF do they do right now that has a decent chance to succeed?
Shotgun is the most obvious answer to me with power I to protect a lead
