That's something I don't understand about softball. When you have a RISP with 2 outs why do you do the running slap stuff instead of a normal swing to get a base hit in the outfield to score the run.

LSU player ran into a ball in the field of play vs Michigan trying to do that with 2 on and 1 out.
It probably goes foul if she isn't trying to slap hit it while running out of the box.

I understand doing it to try to get a infield hit ahead of your big hitters but when you need to produce an RBI it doesn't make much sense.
