Giving up 15 runs to Milwaukee in weekend series is not good. That’s like giving up 30 to a good physical SEC team. That was disappointing.

Guidry and Williams to me looked to have starter make stuff this weekend,
I'm all in on Guidry, but his energy is reliever/closer type energy. No disrespect at all, but that type of energy is normally not how a starter comes out.

Not so good -
Evans underwhelmed,
Schmitty struggled with control.
Good-
The boys hit liners instead of trying to send everything into orbit on a particularly windy day.
I do not think anything I saw this weekend will have any effect or lasting identity with the rest of the season. This is the first weekend back and baseball is baseball. I do not see any concerns.

I think we are going to see that 5 dudes could be weekend starters on the bump for this group
And 16+ can be in the starting lineup with little to 0 drop-off
This is a deep team with way less superstars than we're use to
100%. Was thinking the same thing

Sheerin is my close the door guy along with Rizy, love their demeanor on the mound.
Fontenot looks like he could be a late inning guy as well. He was throwing heat.

No disrespect to Yorke, but not sure how you surmise this based on the weekend series. I believe his lone hit was a homerun in the opening game on Friday. I hope your are correct and that he is a great hitter, but he didn't have a great weekend a the plate. I'm hoping he can hit close to his average from last year.
Looked very comfortable at the plate. Very patient as well. Even with only 1 hit he had an OBP of over .500. Got under a few balls which is a pretty minor adjustment. Overall I think he looked good and comfortable which can show the best is yet to come. Just my opinion.

Last years unit didn’t look like a natty unit, until suddenly it was.
A month into the season last year, plenty of people were saying Eyanson wouldn't be able to handle SEC hitters.
