That was never the claim. It was always because of Tiger Rag Assholes.
And it was banned in the 80's for a while, then brought back after a decade or so. Expect it back in about 5 years.

Ok I was against the STTDB chant but this shite is stupid and weak. Hope the students chant it for every song now. frick you LSU. The 1 good song the band still plays and it's gone.

Reducing the student section would help in many ways. Cut it by half, which would increase revenue. Eliminate Greek automatic tickets. Tickets go in a priority to upperclassmen, graduate schools, i.e., law, vet, etc.
This may increase revenue, fill the stadium (dwi - students are leaving early) and reduce the number of moronic 18-20 year olds.
One of the worst type of human beings you will meet are freshmen college students. Know it alls who know very little about the real world, making adult decisions for the first time in their lives. I know, I was one.

This. Students are gonna student. Hey mom, I'm grown up and can cuss on national TV! This silly shite is just going to keep happening generation after generation.
STOP banning traditional LSU band songs due to kids being kids. Time them better during televised games. This really isn't rocket surgery. The students get to say bad words and they aren't on TV.
But it was kinda hilarious to look at my 16 y/o daughter's face when she first heard STTDB yesterday. Her jaw dropped in surprise and said "they can't say that!" Then we all laughed. Then it got old.
I'm neutral on this. Both sides are stupid. Bringing attention to it by restriction only causes incentive to creatively make it worse. And we have been fricked out of enough great traditional band songs by childish chants.
I love and respect the SS. They are the heartbeat of TS and they are slowly strangling the band due to a fricked up, overbearing administration.
Who wins? The power wins every time. The fans get fricked again.

Fairly easy fix for this...they need to set up crowd mics near the band. When the band plays a song the band is piped through the speakers and the increased volume prevents the student vulgar cheers to be heard anywhere but the student section. If you Can't hear STTDB then it loses its impact

frankly I'd rather my kid here some sophomoric chant from the student section a couple of times a game vs. the typical drunken bitching after every play from a moronic 35-45 year old usually found within about a 7 person radius from your seat...

They get mad at students yelling STTDB yet play Bitch I'm from Louisiana dozens of times through the sound system. I hate this administration so much.
