I dont see any burning. They going to hire a great coach and be a force still. Nothing about the program is burning.

This is one of those sad deals where perception meets reality. bama fans thought that coaches would be out in the street knife fighting to earn the job but the fact of the matter is that following Saban at bama, and spending so much time in Tuscaloosa just isn't that appealing to most. Especially in the age of portals, NILs, and expanded playoffs. Even if the new guys wins 10 games, it's a failure. It's a no win situation.

Their next coach will have the most pressure on him in the history of cfb. No other coach has ever been under the microscope that the next dude will be under.

Well if Bama fans are dumb enough to expect Saban type results they're in for a huge letdown. They have some dumb fans, but I'm sure the majority know they are going to take a step back. Impossible not to. The days of winning a national title at least every 3 years are over. They will not fall off a cliff though.

Can you point us in the direction of Bama burning to the ground?

Man.... they really do live rent free in your head, don't they? I'll hold judgement on whether they're "burning to the ground" as you say until that actually happens. If they make a good hire, the program can still be great even without Saban. I do feel bad for the coach that takes the job though. Whoever the first one is, will have some pretty impossible expectations from the fan base. But, personally, I'm more excited about what LSU is doing with their coaching hires currently than I am about Saban retiring.
