He punched a guy that was in the act of punching his coach...right near his sideline. Battle was shown trying to help break it up. He didn't just charge in from behind.
Any suspension of Battle would be ridiculous.

The SEC never did anything about players swinging at other players on the field after plays. Why would they suddenly decide to get involved? Bama and FLA players swinging at and kicking players - SEC did nothing.
That’s not a defense of Battle mind you - just an observation that the SEC has let this crap slide all year. More likely that LSU would suspend Battle.

I’m not condoning what battle did in any way, but the SEC has set the precedent. They didn’t suspend a Bama player for throwing 3 punches and let the school handle it. And they just yesterday admitted that 4 players should have been ejected from the Egg Bowl for fighting and yet still offered no punishment.

Just as in the LSU-Florida “hurricane” debacle, our incompetent AD will frick this up. The official LSU response is not very well written.

He’s like those Republicans that are always shitting on their own side just to prove they are “objective”. Of course, the other side never does this - they stick together no matter what and do what it takes to win. It’s the same problem with our compliance department.
