Was there ever an official estimate of the number of LSU fans inside DKR Saturday?

It was hard to tell on TV because everyone was so spread out. Just curious if we got close to some of the higher estimates of 25 to 30k?

I was in the stadium. My best guess would be between 15-20K.

I met many, many more LSU fans that traveled to Austin and didn’t even go to the game. That town was crawling with LSU fans.

I was there. No shot. We didn’t have over 15,000 at the game. Probably had 30,000 around the campus. Of course it’s hard to tell because LSU fans insist on wearing purple, which doesn’t show up at all.

If say it was 12-15k max. I was there and no way it was 20k+. Tons of fans partying at the bars all weekend though.

About 8,000

I’ve learned over the years that people on Tigerdroppings have no clue how to estimate crowd size

Would you rather us wear white and look like every other team’s alternate color? There were Texas fans in white. Or would you rather us wear gold to everything?

Purple shows up fine in crowds and on TV. The truth is there just wasn’t much purple around bc Texas ppl actually used their tickets.

No where near and I was trying to look at that during the game! It was less than 10k, wouldn’t be shocked if someone told me 8k. But for those who couldn’t make it other than the hype prior and the ending score, everything else was so subpar for a school like Texas and the money and tradition they have i I would rate their stadium 5 out of ten, and the students I saw were just being complete assholes even more than normal college students!

What I am saying, if I was to do it all over again knowing now what I know and experienced! I should have taken the money I spent going to that game and just have a party at the house with LSU friends and had a much better time and would not have been to the hottest game I have ever sat thru, fricking miserable!

I saw pictures from someone who sat across from the band. Based on that I’d say 10-12k. There looked to be about 7k in those sections in that corner and another few thousand scattered.

I was across from the band and id say anywhere from 10-15k. Still loud enough to be heard. But There were so many fans that went to austin and just watched the game at a bar. Every single bar I went to friday night and Saturday during the day was over 50% lsu fans

There were definitely more than 8K Tiger fans in the stadium. I was hoping for a takeover, but we still had a ton of fans make the trip, even if they couldn't get inside the building.

So Gold/Yellow would have stood out more against BURNT ORANGE? Really? Purple was the absolute perfect play

So is there a problem with wearing purple being an LSU fan? I mean we only have two colors to pick from and most everyone knows purple is LSU.

If the NE upper deck was our ticket allotment then i would say no more than 7500 in the stadium. It was very concentrated around the band but outside of that you could see a purple shirt here and there in the lower bowl. UT fans outnumbered us 30/1 in the rest of the stadium. Do the math.

Our band was amazing though. They made it feel like a home game every first down, TD, or defensive stop... i think it showed up on tv too.

I think you’re close. I was in 103 (Texas sideline uppers) and there, we did a quick (non-exact) count but we were around 30% of the crowd. Looking down to lowers, it looked more like 15-20% of the crowd. Was a great showing and they definitely knew we were there.

I wasn’t there but from what it looked like on tv there were about 500,

From watching the game on tv if there were only 8-15k tiger fans there they were a very loud crowd.

Not good at estimates, however I was at the game and clearly remember scanning the entire stadium. Every section, upper and lower (except the student section) had clusters of Tiger faithful spread throughout. There were a lot more Tigers in that stadium than it appeared on TV, which pisses me off. We would've def occupied approx 15-20% of DKR if we were together. I hope that next year, we return the favor and scatter those Texans out throughout the upper deck.
