We failed to score a single touchdown against Alabama Saturday for the first time in how many years? Was it the 21-0 NC game in 2012?

We didn't score a TD against Alabama in 2016 or 2018, the latter being in Baton Rouge with Burrow/Chase/Jefferson on roster lol

It'll never not be laughably pathetic LSU got shutout in 8 straight quarters in Tiger Stadium from 2016-2018.

I think Jayden’s off-season qb coach gets most of the credit for his development

It was his third game, in his final season before he became the Jaden, Heisman winner.

Don't know who was responsible.

"Sloan" and "great QB coach" don't belong in the same sentence.

Denbrock wanted no part of making Sloan a Co-Offensive Coordinator, and he left LSU. That was a huge mistake. BK was trying to keep Sloan and lost the real deal in Denbrock.

Yeah. ND's offensive success the past 2 years would seem to reaffirm this. There were folks here saying that Denbrock was no big loss and Sloan was the brains behind the operation. That seems to have been disproven...

That and the VR setup LSU had was the reason for it i believe.

How can we criticize Sloan? He ran 4.3/4.4 receivers into the boundary at the line of scrimmage for screens with hopes that other 4.3/4.4 receivers or slow weak lineman could make their way out there a land a block to set them free. At least 20 times a game...signs of a genius.

In his 2 offseasons here, JD5 went back to California to train with a guy there.

At least in the 2010s when I was in school, there were rules that coaches couldn't be in contact with players during the summer. Not saying Jayden didn't prefer that guy, but I don't think it's slam dunk evidence that Sloan is a garbage QB coach

He probably got more credit than he was due for Jayden’s meteoric rise in 2023. But it’s hard to judge his performance when we’ve seen two starters, one of whom has supernatural talent and worked his arse off to maximize it, one of whom has a strong arm and an IQ in the 80s who got paid millions in the offseason and phoned it in.

Promoting him was desperate and keeping him was desperate. All because of Underwood, who recommitted anyway.
