Not sure if Mike Sanders is mentioned, but he was dominant in the late 70's...I would vote Parish though.

Paul Marshall was one of the best that I saw when he was at Southwood. He went to NLU out of high school, but later transferred to LSU when Shaq was there. I would have liked to have seen Livingston in high school. I just read in sports illustrated that he is the best player in the NBADL. Too bad about his injuries.

How good is Greg Monroe? I haven't seen him, but he is the #1 HS player according to the recruiting services. Is he better than Stromile or Lester Earl at a HS level?

Good question. I haven't seen him either. It does seem that big men mature later than average height guys. Stromile definitely got better after high school. Anybody able to see much of Greg Monroe?

No way.

Though he is pretty polished for his age. His athleticism isnt close to the level of Swift or Earl.

He's #1 cause he is a legit 6'10"/6'11" and is a true Center at the college level and probable 4 in the NBA.

Must agree with these:

Gotta go with these three:

1) Robert Parish
2) Bob Pettit
3) Joe Dumars

But would add Bob Love. Probably the best Chicago Bull ever until MJ came along. Hot Rod would make the top 10

I watched a televised game between Helen Cox and a team from Georgia. At least in this game he seemed to disappear for long stretches and wasn't much of a factor. Looks to be unpolished but with huge potential.

Michael Cutwright was one of the best. He was just dumb as dirt. He got drafted by the nuggets in 89

Ok, I am old and most of you will not remember this guy. He apparently did not have the smarts for college so he disappeared - James "Poo" Welch. He played for LaGrange, in Lake Charles, in the late 60s. Led them to the state championship in '67. I believe they defeated BRHS for the championship that year. BRHS was led by Apple Sanders. This guy was unbelievable. He was as smooth as silk on the court and everything looked effortless. As kids all of us would fill the gym to watch him play. That was a great team and he was really one of a kind.

Me too...never saw him in high school but heard he was something. Peyton Manning played with him on the Newman hoops team I'm told.

Also heard he got the better of AAU battles with Jason Kidd back in his high school days.

You have it backwards. He went to LSU his freshman year and actually his last second 3 pointer beat NLU. He tranfered to NLU and was the Southland Conference Player of the Year. NLU had some good teams in the early/mid 90s.
