Imagine this, Auburn could end up undefeated but unable to play in the post season and could therefore, for a third time (1994, 2004, 2010), have the best team in the country and not a single Championship to show for it.

Meanwhile, LSU—which became the first 2-loss Champion in the Modern Era in 2007 when the were 'undefeated in regulation' but winless in triple overtime—could be the first team ever to lose two games in regulation (Tennessee, Auburn) yet wind up undefeated and playing for a National Championship.

this is pure 24 K gold.

I still can't see the NCAA doing anything with Cam before Auburn plays Georgia in 8 days.

Remind me again how long it took the NCAA to declare J. Masoli eligible after he was declared ineligible to play?

Even if Newton is found is guilty of this, we won't get the win. Auburn will just vacate the game.

All that has to happen is for the NCAA to declare Newton ineligible by the SECCG.

If that happens, then AU vacates all wins and is ineligible for the SECCG. So the next place team in the West would replace AU in Atlanta. In that case, if LSU wins out, they'd go.

Here is an interesting take on the whole "money in recruting" situation from a YahooSports. Pretty cynical about the prevelence and history of this kind of stuff.

The only thing that would make this funnier is if it were the Gumps.

My opinion is that if bama loses this weekend, the whole newton thing goes away??? Only team in the sec I hAte is bama but I really don't like newton, he is a very talented athlete but he has very poor sportmanship especially after games.. Where am I goin with this? Idk, it's 8 am and I'm tired lol

I see your point. If the Newton thing helps Alabama, it will go forward. If not, swept under the rug.

So right about now Les Miles has cracked a smile as he thinks "I'm about to be undefeated in regulation again!".

This will create a sharp increase in new patients at all State Mental facilities.

The good news is there will be a few less retards on the rant.

War Eagle, I come in peace. Have trolled here for awhile, but thought the truth might need to be stated to save some time- NCAA & AU were aware of the allegations last summer, AU already found not involved. Some questions about how Cam's father was able to come up with funds to avoid condemnation of his church bldg in Newnan, but time-line shows that remodeling funds were donated at least two months before AU started recruiting Cam (saw him while scouting another player @ Blinn). Interesting as to why Rogers (from Tusc, AL)would approach an ex-MSU player not on the staff, unless he was known to be the "contact" for such things.
Urban Meyer convinced Mullen to report, which helps stop critics about Urban picking Brantley & allowing Cam to leave UF.
Unlike the Bama guys from Gadsden/Mobile all driving Escalades & Chargers, Cam rides a $450.00 scooter and his father's church bldg is still in need of serious update.
Lastly, the NY writer pushing this has Univ Bama connections, so just hope they don't instruct him to target LSU. Remember the NY Times owns Tusc paper-

I'm gonna say this won't happen anyway.

UGA, BAMA, SECCG and Bowl Game

No way they run that w/out a loss.

I think the NCAA will come up with a decision before the sec championship game. look at how fast they came out with a decision on aj green and how fast they came to a decision on unc.

they made a decision pretty quickly on Masoli as well...plus we have Emmert in our corner

Lets pretend that AU has not been involved in the allegations, and they werent the ones who paid his dad. There is still the involvement with the agent that might would make Cam ineligible. Auburn played Cam all season. Therefore Auburn would have to vacate those wins, and LSU and bama take their rightful place atop the SEC west. The issues arent simply did auburn pay the dad or not.

I don't think you could quilt all the Persian Rugs from an Al Qaeda Convention together to make a rug big enough to sweep this under.

This WILL be resolved one way or the other before the season is out.
