That was true before... there's still a real chance. No decision made. He's still doing rehab and keeping his shoulder in shape.

So this is how I see our pen right now

bouman clean up roles only
Strall needs to find himself, he was good has struggled as of late. I say lets keep him in midweek roles till he finds himself.
Norman stick to midweek
Cartwright I'm not sure about him, he is hit and miss, I don't mind him in the 6th or 7th when we have a decent lead
Bugg he needs more work on the weekends, he is a good 7th/8th inning guy in a 1 or 2 run game.
Person Needs to stick to the 8th maybe closer if Stallings is unavailable.
Newman Spot starter/come in if starter screws up
Bain see above
Reynolds See above.

LSU played cupcakes early in the season. Obviously this club is not who most people thought they were pitching depth wise. Youth is starting to show against better clubs.

we have looked good against SEC competition so far, we got unlucky in the Kentucky. I'm concerned about our pen but we haven't thrown out our best guys tonight. We have some solid arms in the pen.

Their biggest problem is control. The walks are killing them. It forces them to take some off and throw meat balls.

Every single one of our bull pen guys on the weekend has had shite for control lately. Walks kill at this level

I think he only has 2-3 weeks of rehab then he could potentially be ready to throw in a game if he doesn't have any setbacks during rehab.

Adam mentioned about the third week in April seems reasonable. Latz will be huge in the post season, no need to rush him into the regular season.

I think we snap out of it...we have the best pitching coach in the country so if he can't fix it then they were fools gold to begin with

Add Strall to the list of pitchers I don't need to see again.

I think in 2-3 weeks will be when he can throw on a mound at all... not game ready. That's still even further away. I'm thinking last week or so of SEC play. 6 weeks away IMO.

yea I don't expect them to rush him back for any reason but if he gets cleared to play CPM is going to play him. Latz will be a 3 year guy anyway. He could potentially have a Chad Jones like impact in the postseason.

Stallings is a good pitcher may be one of the best closers in the SEC
Person has been good a couple bad games.
Bugg usually is good but doesn't get enough time
Reynolds, Bain and Newman have been good in long relief.
Cartwright hit and miss.
Strall started good, but has had a couple bad games.

I think what is happening is the guys we have relied on have all of a sudden started to struggle. Our pitching has been fine this season so far, just all of a sudden two straight bad games.
