Kinda like James Comey telling his Georgetown buddy it was OK to leak his infamous CYA memo...

Wade is the best!

Never liked a coach so much. Especially for a sport I normally don't even follow.

But we can’t trust Alleva when it comes to due process. Duke showed us that.

What exactly would working for half the money solve?

Why don't you ask Bruce Pearl if he has "a whole lot of opportunity" as he coaches in the Final Four while still refusing to talk to his employer about the investigations into his program.

Let’s throw a BBQ for coach Wade. If the NCAA or Alleva asks about it, just lie about it.

You say he loves LSU. Inwould consider that proof if he did.

Point being, he loves the money, not the school. Get real

That’s retarded logic. You have to be willing to work for half your salary to prove you like your job? You’re acting as if him agreeing to work for half his salary would change anything about the current situation.

Also, I never said Wade “loves” his job. I just think it’s utterly ridiculous to suggest with any certainty that he doesn’t. You can’t prove he doesn’t like it here or that he only cares about the money. Why can’t it be both?

If you JUST love your contract (and Wade's is fully guaranteed absent a firing for "cause"), then you come in, do the bare minimum outside of coaching/recruiting, and collect your check.

I'm not saying LSU is Wade's "dream school" or anything like that, but the guy has been busting his arse since day one to build a program, not just coach the team. He takes speaking engagements any and everywhere all over the state. Part of the reason Richard Lipsey was furious is because not too long before Wade's suspension he was invited by Lipsey to speak to the the employees at Lipsey's office. The employees loved him. Wade is trying build relationships with influential folks throughout the state.

He has been on a barnstorming tour of LA (ala Dale Brown) all in an effort to build the LSU basketball brand here. He's making efforts to try to grow the brand (renovated PMAC; playing a game in Parker Coliseum, etc) You could tell there was some genuine emotion when he addressed the crowd after the Tennessee win because it was one of the first times he saw tangible fruits of his labor with a packed Assembly Center and a raucous atmosphere.

You don't expend THAT much effort on non-coaching aspects of the program if you JUST love your contract. Setting aside the recruiting issues for the moment, Wade didn't have to expend THAT much energy trying to grow the brand if all he was interested in was collecting a paycheck. He could have gone 8-10 in SEC for 4 straight years and still gotten paid.

Does he have a "love for LSU" like fans who have grown up in this state? Of course not. But he does see it as an opportunity to build a big time powerhouse program and he does "love" that opportunity

It's waaaay past time for Alleva to reinstate WW. Let him do his job. If Wade's situation changes for the worse a la the trial or NCAA, that is the time to deal with WW.
I agree with you, however it's too late for him to re-instate him now, he almost has to wait until after the trial is over, otherwise he looks like a bigger dumbass than he already is.

Of course he loves LSU. He has a fat contract and no other options until he is found to be "clean" (whatever that represents). That's not a criticism of him. It's just a fact.
This is a complex situation and all the parties are in limbo.
It will play out eventually.
