I was there...classic game...the place must have been 80/20 Tennessee fans to LSU fans...we were as good as any team at the end of that season...

Lived in NOVA at the time. Took my sons to that game and tailgated with the old Krewe of Ragoo in the shadows of the stadium. Electric atmosphere and one of my favorite of many games.

I thought this was going to refer to Keyon Whiteside's cheap shot in the white that knocked Rohan out of the game.

A few weeks after that game I was in Asheville North Carolina wearing some LSU colors. I encountered an elderly man wearing orange and we struck up a conversation. He complained that we had cost them a national championship. My reply was that it was karma, payback for them costing us a national championship in 1959.

Stayed at a hotel that many Vols fans stayed at as well. They were literally handing out roses to everyone getting off the elevators...before the game.
Also overheard a Vols fan in the Georgia Dome say, "sure, we'll play the 5th best team in the SEC again."
