I said last night after that inning that the kid is a damn first base wizard. That was impressive stuff. If he continues to improve, and adds some pop to his bat, he is going to be something special to watch for the next three years.

I don’t understand what all the fuss is. Those 3 plays by Morgan were nothing special.
Any Gold Glove Major League first baseman would have made those plays, too.

The pick play is the prettiest but the play he made on the pop op in foul territory may be the toughest play for a first baseman to make. You don’t really practice that play ever and the angle is really tough.

I was amazed at the smoothness and poise the youngster showed. What a player!

Question, seems like you see pitchers airmail throws to first base more often than other defenders. Is that because the pitcher makes a sudden change from the mound to a flat surface?
