Soooo, since JJ is clearly not guilty of 2nd Degree Assault, he should have hired a terrible attorney to represent him, or better yet just represented himself?
You'd be surprised how many people are completely clueless when it comes to hiring a quality attorney.

One rarely sees Unglesby brought in unless the accused thinks they are potentially in deep doo doo.
Are you trying to suggest that Unglesby is only retained when the defendant is guilty? Because that assertion is just bullshite.
Or are you trying to suggest that Unglesby is retained when the stakes are high? That's true. Unglesby is not an inexpensive lawyer. He is retained when the stakes justify it. And the stakes are very high for Jefferson. Not because of the potential punishment, but because his career at LSU and in football is on the line.

Not gonna read 42 pages... but based on the first 3 pages, there's a lot of optimism for JJ being exonerated. 2 things here:
1) The 1:41 video doesn't capture the entire incident. None of us know what happened before the person filming decided to start recording, or what happened outside the frame of the camera. It would stand to reason that the filmer didn't start recording until the altercation had already been underway for who-knows-how-long.
2) It is noteworthy how JJ's demeanor inside the club is friendly and non-violent compared to Lowery's. That's the biggest takeaway for me.

"When we were escorting Lowery out, you can see Jefferson right there and he has nothing to do with it," said Peak, who did not see what happened in the parking lot outside the club. "He doesn't look at (Lowery). He doesn't say a word. He acted like he didn't even know who they were."

? Sure looks like in the video Jordan is already well gone by the time Lowery is being 'escorted out'. So those little dudes in the baseball caps were the bar employees?

When you call someone an "idoit" you might want to make sure you spell the word right.

I asked yesterday and got no response. Has anyone seen the exact arrest warrant. (ie) what did the BRPD officially cite as the sufficient evidence to arrest.
And again, this 'video' is new to us, but not the BRPD. The presumption that we cracked the code in 3 minutes by looking at it and they did not consider it eventhough they had it for days seems a little unreasonable to me.

quote:pretty sure I never said that. I'm asking what all this other evidence the BRPD has could possibly consist of for all the reasons I stated previously. at the end of the day this was a bar fight and there's only so much physical evidence to be had sans higher quality video and/or a witness whose word is irrefutable. what could this smoking gun be?
Are you suggesting that the general public has been presented ALL evidence regarding the case?
C'mon man

Text messages, more cell phone video, more witnesses... A myriad of things.
We don't know everything, and we most likely never will.
I find it hard to believe that the BRPD made such a high profile arrest in BR on a whim.
They have to know something that hasn't been put out yet.
It's not like I want Football players to be in trouble. I hope they aren't. But there are 4 people with injuries, and they didn't do it to themselves.

But it is keenly apparent that is exactly what they did.
The BRPD made it crystal clear from Day#1 their conclusions were predetermined, and they "hoped" to follow through with actions appropriate to findings based upon those predeterminations.

I'm doubtful there will ever be a decent video of what happened and witness testimony has been reported to have conflicting accounts of what happened. BRPD had enough to charge him but I don't think they have enough for a conviction. I guess I just don't have as much faith in the BRPD.

3) All of the videos, taken together, do not prove that JJ is innocent or guilty. Obviously he is not the kicker in all black, but if the guy in the jeans and the light colored shirt does stomp the guy on the ground, then that could or could not be JJ.
and here's the point i keep trying to make. They have to prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that he DID do it.....not that he didn't do it.
case dropped...JJ back on team

Eye witness accounts from unbiased parties.
We just don't know if those exist or not.
And we will never know.
Who's to say someone didn't go to the police the day before his arrest and tell them what happened outside shadys?
I just find it hard to believe they arrested two lsu football players for no reason. Especially since if they got it wrong, the backlash would be unreal.
