"Vegas" doesn't give a sick rat's arse what the final score is. They are in the business of getting equal money on BOTH sides of the line. Their opening spread is a prediction of what the betting public will do. NOT what the teams will do.
That is why the line changes. They have not "re-evaluated" the teams and decided one team is suddenly 5-1/2 points better....rather than just 5.

Exactly my point regarding Vegas....Only a 5 pt favorite means that big money players hav already bet their millions....now they are waiting on the herd. They know most people will bet on LSU being only a 5 pt favorite. Knowing that it would seem that they would put LSU a stronger favorite so more people would bet on WV and balance the ledger.

I don't really think most are overlooking this game, they are the #16 Team in the country, but with the entirety of the our season schedule there are some interesting match-ups coming up. As fans we can look ahead on upcoming games based on our own impressions, but in most of CLMs' interviews, IMO, he doesn't sound like he is going to overlook any opponent on our schedule. I think he might have gotten burned a-la last season by looking through teams. WVU, does have the potential to be a very dangerous game, but if our players show up like they have been(and I have faith in it), we should be good to go for victory.
Looking past WVU(fan base)? I doubt it, over-confidence would be the more likely culprit amongst our fan-base, but I really don't know this is my third post on this site, this is just my opinion.

The game is very daunting. Gameday will be present. WVU's stadium will be beserk by the 8 PM Easterm kickoff. As you note, a WVU victory could propel them to the NC game. Gino Smith is a very capable, accurate QB. Holgerson is a noted offensive tactician.
I'm not overlooking the game. I don't believe most LSU fans are. The team certainly shouldn't be.

Why, Why, Why?? Every week somebody has to get on here whining about the next game makes em, scared, worried, or a trap game..... Geez!
Of course no game is a sure thing, thats why ya gotta suit up and play the game, but these Tiger aint overlooking nothing... and if they were, I promise you CLM would have that attitude worked out by game day... Lighten up people!! I believe WV will be handily beaten down, and Gino Boy will be very sore Sunday a.m.

they just played in a similar environment in starkville,these players were jacked up for that game .i think this team is hungry and is ready and there will be no let downs this year

It is their Super Bowl and will be a tough game for LSU if they get rolling early
And the path to the BCS NCG should be pretty easy for WVU if they can beat LSU - it's not like they could do something silly and lose to Pitt

I was nervous for the miss St game because everyone was picking it as a trap game and it was our first SEC game, but we controlled that game and won convincingly. I'm not worried at all about west Virginia after seeing them play Maryland so close. The players will be well rested and I think we make a big statement in this game against a top 15 team on national tv.

What if state was our bad game? Lots of oenalties. Chavis saying we missed a lot of assignments against state. We are capable of playing much better. The coaches and players know it.
