Two years in a row. Thank you Jay for taking all teams seriously when you have good arms.

Little Rock showed everyone last year that they’re a program not to be trifled with.

The starter went 5.1 with 2 runs. The real issue for USM was giving up 4 in the 9th when they were up 1.

That being said, it probably is wise of Jay to not hold guys back for situations that might not happen the way you plan.

UF just squeaked by the 4 seed
Auburn losing despite pitching their ace
UCLA losing as well

Always go with your ace in game 1

Skip Bertman, Smoke Laval, and Paul Mainieri went like 19-0 when saving our ace as the 1 seed in a 4 team regional.

Tennessee is going to use up all the pitching in game 1. Now the top of the 14th.

College baseball has gotten a lot more competitve over time. 10-15 and especially 20 years ago just not really relevant to now

Yes there are some ultra questionable 4 seeds that get in, but if we're being honest we typically got dealt a pretty easy 4 seed for a long time at home when we played here

4 seeds are not all gimme games any more

Yeah, no way Ty Floyd could have beaten 20-34 Tulane in 2023. They surely would have lit him up.

It's baseball anything can happen at any time, winning the first game of the regional just puts you on the easy track

We also only scored four runs ourselves letting Skenes go a CG. Floyd would have likely won, also, but he had a 4 + ERA...don't pretend that the decision was crazy stupid.

The guy they started has a sub 3 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and was 8-0 on the year

They lost because they only scored 4 runs

Winning the first game is just enormous for your odds of winning the regional. I love throwing our ace.

The 7-1 record in G1 (4-0 in G1) and G2 of regionals while at LSU, and 4x appearance in regional finals, would point to the opposite of that.

There are way more good baseball teams now than there used to be.

Little Rock in 2025 is better than Southern in 2009.

Did Texas A&M start their ace today? They’re down 4-0 in the 4th right now
