Florida lost alot on Defense and their emotional leader I don't think they should be that high.

I figured they'd be around 7, but looking at the rankings it seems about right. Who would you like to see ranked ahead of them?

I like LSU at #16

We are lucky to be ranked there with the way we have played the last couple of years.

You people are insane.....like absolutely insane. OSU plays 4 teams in preseason top 14, 2 on the road. Who else is playing that level of schedule?

Are any of them in the top 10?

Oh, I see Iowa coming in at #10.

Big deal.

LSU is playing 6 teams from the top 25 overall, 3 on the road, and 2 of the top 5, one home one away.

I would say LSU's "level of schedule" is higher.

FLA will be better this year than last year.

Is that a reflection of the team or the coaching staff?

Or a reflection of the past coaching staff?

It's a reflection of the fact that the Coaches don't vote for teams on probation.

it's pretty freakin hard to be better than 13-1, so i'm guessing you're taking them all the way?

#16 looks right considering this team has not had an identity on offense for 2 seasons....

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see clear cut favorites like in years past. Typically you have a couple teams that start the season head and shoulders above the rest. I just don't see it this year. The NC is truly up for grabs. I wouldn't be surprised to see another two loss SEC team in the BCS championship game against one of the Big 12 teams (Texas, Okla, Neb).

I love that all six SEC west teams received votes in this poll and only three east teams.

GO TIGERS!

16 is very generous. I believe we will finish in the top 10 this year though.

The only thing that is still very disconcerting is that over the previous four years we've averaged around 5th in the recruiting rankings, yet teams that rank around 40th in recruiting, BSU, TCU, NEB, ect are ranked ahead of us as a team. Something is very wrong with that!

Yeah in 2003 we came in at 16 also. I think we all remember how that season ended.

Yeah, I think I remember who the coach was too.

KABOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And in 2007 we started out ranked #2 and we know how that season ended. And I think I remember who the coach was at that time as well.

Can we get through one day / one post without all this crap?

BTW - I think it's a good spot to start from this year. We'll end up in the top 5 by season's end.

So according to you sports writers and coaches who get paid to analyze sports for a living aren’t intelligent
pretty much. if the coaches took the time to really analyze each team I'd give them more credence but we all know a GA fills out the poll for them.

sportswriters write what sells and what sells and gets the most clicks to their articles. nothing more. so yeah the bitching and moaning does have an effect on our preseason ranking. not the sole reason but it has an effect. are you saying it doesn't?

About right. Not where you start, where you finish.

Yeah, because their schedule has nothing to do with their ranking.
