Meyer will never get over the fact that he let a Heisman winner get away - and kept the also-ran.

If a first year starter with 50 tds/5000 yds passing and the B1G’s all-time single season passing leader is an also-ran, I’ll take it.

We got some Charmin Soft douche pussy fanboys. Urban is trying to throw compliments to LSU and it’s not even on you guys radar. It is possible to be Mr. Football in High School and not be physically developed yet at 18. Fukin Dummies.

Ohio State was LOADED at every position last year.

Burrow would have been in the Playoffs with that group. No way Burrow loses to Purdue with that team. Burrow would have rushed for 100 yards against Purdue and his RBs would have picked up another couple hundred.

Meyer thought Haskins was the Heisman guy. And it was Burrow instead. Meyer is butthurt.

Meyer trying to claim Burrow was inaccurate when he got to Ohio State?

Burrow was one of the most accurate QB's in the history of Ohio HS football. 72.3% as a Senior, and 71.2% as a Junior. And as a Senior, Joe threw 63 TDs with 2 INTs.

No, Meyer didn't claim that Joe was inaccurate when he got to Ohio State. He said exactly what I wrote. No more. No less. What I wrote is what he said.

It's tempting to read a lot into exactly what he said but that might not be wise.

Urban Meyer didn't think that Joe Burrow was the best QB on his team, so Joe transferred. Urban Meyer was wrong about that. This much we know, whether Urban openly admits that or now, which he will never do, because that would be an insult to Haskins.

An assistant can't make a HC take anyone. He trusted his lieutenant's evaluation. That's why you have assistants.

Burrow's now the 3rd QB Meyer's signed that's won a Heisman. That's not an accident.

I found the video. We disagree.

Of course all kids are going to develop strength and their skill-set between the ages of 17 an 22.

It is not just Meyer, but the Ohio State offensive staff in general is embarrassed that they misjudged Burrow.

Meyer needs to move on and quit trying to rationalize his decision (or non-decision) on Joe Burrow.

According to Joe's dad (on Off the Bench) Meyer did nothing to move Burrow's recruitment forward until Herman informed Meyer that Nick Saban was scheduled to visit the Burrow's in about a week. Meyer signed Burrow immediately.

I watched the show segment one more time and I will have to concede that you may be right. Urban may indeed be trying to "rationalize" his decision on Joe Burrow. I don't think that there is anything malicious about it, though. In fact, Urban may not even realize he's doing it.

His completion % says different. Barring any big changes in the next game (hopefully 2 games) he will break the NCAA record for completion %. Not the LSU record, Not the SEC record, but the NCAA record. Not for the last 10 20 or 30 years but in the history of the NCAA.

That my friend is damn accurate to me.

Meyer's ego is SO BIG that EVERY time he talks, it's ALL about him and how it reflects on HIM.

It's funny how much he loves himself and the sound of his voice. You can see whoever's one set with him just watch as he rambles on endlessly, just waiting for him to pause so they can redirect the show back to whatever the really wanted to talk about - NOT Urban and all of his amazingness.

I completely give credit to Oregon and the team mentality that ESPN documented earlier in the season

Meyer is full of it.

You don't throw for 11000 yds in HS and win Mr Ohio football without accuracy

I am riding the Burreaux train. However, I personally believe that his accuracy isn't better than Tua. There were a lot of occasions when he either overthrew or under threw the deep balls this season. But Chase is just so dominant that he would overpower the DB to take possession of the ball. On the other hand, look at Tua's deep balls. E.g., the two deep balls that Devonta hauled for 2 TDs vs. us could not have been thrown any better. Burrow's accuracy in a tight window is extremely good, however, he will have to develop the ability to not over/under throw because the DBs in the league are going to be as good if not better than the receivers.

So let's cherry pick a few passes and judge both QB solely on that. Tua struggles at times with deep ball accuracy, hell it was a topic of discussion at the early stages of this season.

Stop trying to analyze QBs. You aren't good at it.
