Thanks, genius. Let's put a bunch of art students on a roof with over a 100' drop and no fall protection. Don't forget this is a curved roof; how do they locomote on that? And while they're up there, they can simply apply 18,000 sq ft of paint, which is the equivalent of a dozen ranch houses in Baton Rouge. BTW, is the paint in cans? What do you set them on?I can tell you've been involved in lot's of construction projects. On second thought, this could be a reality TV show!

On second thought there don't seem to be many "big picture" thinkers/minds left on campus, to get a project like this up and running !
Kind of like that PITIFUL ticket ordering system which our athletic dept. STILL uses {and pays untold thousands to...paciolan, I think it's called} not like we have a computer science program right on campus !!!!

Thread sucks with no fark

I'm a roofing contractor and i can shed some light on this. The idea is very cool btw, would be the first i know of to do a design like that on a roof. The first thought that came into my mind is that there are no manufacturers that make roof coatings in purple or yellow, and it would have to be a roof coating, not just an exterior paint (but maybe they could add pigment to the white, would b pricey). It has to be able to flex quite a bit and handle the elements. The second thought that comes to mind is the colors would quickly fade inconsistently. The purple would oxidize and turn lighter within a year. Would look gayish-pinkish probly.

Plus, with the intense south LA heat and sun the purple would get much hotter than the yellow and white and crack the coating where the colors change. plus since its curved it would throw the design off and might not work from just that issue alone. maybe a computer program could adjust for this. but very cool idea. would cost way more than 100k btw. and would last 5 yrs at most.

would b great project for construction management dept. someone should mention it to them. it would bring LSU a good $ return for that fade-out killa blimp shot every other Saturday. other programs would b very jealous (i.e. wretched bama) and recruits would love it. Its got my vote. I could mobilize my five-footers immediately.
