National Rank - SEC Rank

17th Batting Avg (.322) - 4th
16th Bases on Balls (90) - 3rd
9th Doubles (42) - 3rd
23rd ERA (2.92) - 6th
261st Fielding % (.949) - Last in SEC (But still better than Southern and Ohio State)
1st HBP (43) - 1st
10th HRs (26) - 3rd
8th Runs (155) - 3rd
3rd OB% (.449) - 2nd
16th Strikeout to Walk Ratio - 4th
8th WHIP - 3rd

Highlight some individual stats:

14th HBP - 1st - Dugas (8)
4th Doubles - 1st - Doughty (10)
24th Hits - 3rd - Berry/Crews tied (26)
6th HR - 1st - Jacob Berry (8 total - leader has 10)
17th Runs - 3rd - Morgan (22)
5th Triples - 1st - Crews (3)

The real geeks probably have already seen these, so it’s mostly for the casual geek.

The ERA and WHIP stats aren’t too shabby.

Doesn’t Berry have 7, not 6?

I added the individual totals so it’s more clear (hopefully).

If we lose to Tulane tomorrow night, we will go back to being terrible.

This. WHIP is one of the best metrics to look at to evaluate a pitching staff. If you can hang around 1.00 you will win a bunch of games. The problem is the errors and the 16 unearned runs. The pitching has been good.

Omaha? They would have to get selected to Regional, win that regional and then win Super Regional. With this defense and pitching, won’t happen.

It’s really hard to defend the defense at this point, but the pitching has been more than solid so far. Much better this year than last and our schedule has been harder through 16 games than last year.

One can only hope that the defense has nowhere to go but up from here.

Oh, and I’m saying our schedule has been harder thus far mostly because of the Shriner’s Classic this year. Everything else is mostly the same.

I had a feeling we’d be #1 nationally in HBP before I opened the thread

For recruiting and scouting geeks, Jack Walker, a freshman from Barbe with a 15 ERA, is pitching for Moo State tonight.

And you may also find a new appreciation for Lyn.

Why are you using players first names? Have you never played baseball before?
