re: Updated Daniels is the leader, who would you want as backup if LSU’s losing by a lot

Somebody here posted once that if Daniels with his speed ever became an accurate passer, he’d be unstoppable. We’ll he has!
Sigh. Why does this board always speak in certainties?
How do you know this? Bc some twatter junky said so?

This is what is called speculation, going by what others who attended are saying. Now if you heard from a coach, then you'd "KNOW" something.

I agree. If LSU's offense is struggling late in the game -Two minute situation- Id send Brennan out there if OL is providing decent protection.
If its a real stinker and a change is made at start of 3rd Qtr .... not sure.

Who would you venture to guess was the qb that kept up with mizzou and state in those shootouts? Did myles just sub in for the 4 plays at the goal line or no?
I honestly forgot?
It couldn’t have been myles throwing those td passes, he couldn’t convert a 3rd down.
3 of the scoring drives against Missouri actually started inside the 25 yard line because our defense recovered 3 fumbles and set our offense up with a short field

I'm an LSU fan first and foremost so I'm a fan of whichever qb is winning for us so I want whichever qb the coaches say is the best playing. That means I don't have a dog in the Daniels, Nuss, Brennan my guy is better than your guy fight, but when I see a post like this I look at it sideways. You obviously looked at Daniels stats enough to see his total passing yards while mentioning thats in a 3 year time frame all while leaving out that Daniels and Arizona State only played 4 games in 2020 (his 2nd year). You also didn't mention his rushing yards and the only reason I bring that up is because if you actually look at his stats they kinda remind me of Matt Corral's stats and we all know this board couldn't help but mention how dynamic Matt Corral was last year. I guess I'm just curious why we have fans that try and discount any of our qbs because isn't best case scenario all of our qbs be dangerous. There will be plenty of fans from other SEC teams trying to discount our teams qbs during the year no need to write a blueprint for them.

I’ve been a LSU fan all of my life but honestly In the black community we’ve always felt a lot of racial tension from LSU fan base, Im not saying this is a race issue but boy it does come off as being such….
Daniel's averaged 175 yards per game passing. That's JJ 2.0

He threw for 430 yards, 4TDs and 0 picks while playing with a near career ending injury for half the game but I guess he did all that inside the 25 yard line of the other team. I’ve never once seen you hold the other QBs to the same standards.

Hope Hannigriff shows up at the poker tables. I want to confirm what I was told.

College career statistics
As a true freshman in 2008, Jefferson appeared in seven games, starting two of them including the 2008 Chick-fil-A Bowl of which he was the offensive MVP in a 38–3 win over Georgia Tech
Jefferson threw for 4,733 yards and 34 touchdowns during his career. As of 2020, he ranks sixth for career wins by a starting quarterback at LSU with 24, and is tied for seventh in LSU history in passing touchdowns (34) and as of the end of his career was sixth in rushing touchdowns by a quarterback (12). As of 2020, he is eighth in LSU history in career passing yards (4,733), and at the end of his career was eighth in completion percentage (58.7), sixth in career completions (398), and sixth in attempts (678).[citation needed]
Jefferson holds the LSU record for rushing yards by a quarterback with 1,018 yards. Jefferson’s ability to run the ball forced opposing defenses to account for him which allowed LSU to defeat opponents through its rushing attack. LSU’s emphasis on its ground game coupled with Jefferson sharing time with Jarrett Lee reduced Jefferson’s passing yardage. Thus, Jefferson threw for less than 100 yards in 11 games, or 34% of all games he started.[7] However, of those 11 games, LSU only lost 3 games.

Remember when Saban handled the Tua vs Hurts competition? How he refused to speak negatively of either one? I wish our fans would look to that as an example of trying to build up our players rather than tear some of them down.

LSU players read these posts! Your post makes a lot of sense however some of our fans are lacking in that category.

Brennan is the best passer. I guess passing ability isn’t the most important aspect in a QB in this new offense.

perriloux woulda been in the discussion also had he not been booted from team. he could throw and run option.

no, that was les miles smash mouth toss dive only run between the tackles concept that he would run until it worked. JJ is NOT why miles toss dives worked at times. sure he helped some in the run game but they sure did not account for him much in the pass game. if they did it would have opened up even more big runs. we ran successfully at times even in spite of miles/ predictability.

I know the truth bothers you, but Jefferson had a very good career. Why people keep taking shots at him 10 years later is pathetic.
He also won the game of the century at Alabama. What did u ever win?
His #'s speak for themselves.
You whining about a school record that this man owns? How many school records do u own? And its spelled dual btw.

Howard may an opportunity to back up now, you know whoever starts isn't going to last the whole season without some injury because of their running the ball. Burrow was just a freak.
