For this to work properly, we would need to move the SEC Offices out of Bama

Should have been done long ago. The necks have no sense of sportsmanship or fair play. Just desperate to win at any cost.

The only real fair way to do it.

The head of scheduling does not understand this.

Was LSU/Oregon an exhibition game? LSU/TCU? LSU/VA Tech? etc. I think there would be a little bit of interest and excitement for LSU/Florida, LSU/Georgia, LSU/Tennessee, LSU/South Carolina, etc. even if it didn't impact the conference standings.

It just seems really silly to me to be forced to play someone who is in your conference, yet it doesn't impact the conference standings at all.

I'm willing to get over the playing Florida every year -- seems sort of unmanly to complain about that. On the other hand, playing South Carolina last year, and UGA this yr, while Ala. played Missouri, and will play KY, is ridiculous and looks rigged -- I mean, the difference b/w the LSU and Ala. programs is razorthin and any slight scheduling advantage is therefore magnified.

Not a terrible idea,

It is a completely rational idea, those results determine the best team in the division.

but then what is the point of playing cross division games?

Entertainment? Revenue? Rankings nationally? What is the point of OOC games?

Y'all people are using way too much logic.
If bama doesn't get to play two unranked teams then your system isn't fair.

To play someone who isn't in your conference?

What's the point of someone being in your conference if you play them and it doesn't mean anything for conference standings? That makes absolutely no sense. Why not just break the divisions into two separate conferences if playing someone in the other division is the same as playing an OOC game?

ETA: And there would still be bitching about which cross-division opponents a respective team draws, even if they dont count in the conference standings. So there is no benefit to only counting intra-division games.

- Play one rotating division every year (4 games)
if you have 4 divisions, then this would only be 3 games.. you already play everyone in your own division..

I think I misunderstood Miles idea. What I think he is suggesting is having a computer randomly select your cross divisional rivals the 1st year and then randomly select how the rotation is going to work, not having random cross division rivals every year. I like this idea.
