Why do you care so much about an anonymous person on the internet saying Collins is a suspect?

His lawyer is the only person who used the term "suspect". That's was bizarre.

LINK /

quote:

"We took the investigation seriously," Boren said. "We've tried to rule him out as a suspect. We're going to provide that information to the police, and ultimately, (Collins) will sit down and talk to them. But the timing is poor.

quote:

"We have identified where La'el was the day the lady was murdered to establish he was nowhere around. We have offered to give names, witnesses who can vouch for his whereabouts that day until after the woman's body was discovered. We believe that when (police) have verified that information, that they will rule him out as a suspect in the homicide, just as I believe he should be."

The police specifically said he was not a suspect, whether they meant it or not.

quote:

They do not consider him a suspect, Lt. Jonny Dunnam told the Baton Rouge Advocate.

"There are numerous other people who are going to be interviewed," Dunnam said. "So he is one of many."

This is why if he's not involved, he should have taken care of the matter as soon as the police asked to interview him.

quote:

Peter King of themmqb.com wrote today that Collins "has a problem. ... One team I talked to that is interested in drafting a tackle in the first round is now re-thinking whether Collins will even be on its board on Thursday night. This team's thinking goes: How can you draft a guy who's being sought in connection with the death of a woman, even if police are saying now he isn't a suspect? He needs to be exonerated by Thursday. Fair or unfair, Collins needs to address this today, and with finality."

Then, at least, he could have issued a statement that he was not involved in any way, but he is certainly willing to cooperate with police in this very sad situation or something along those lines. Might have been better from a PR perspective.

Even if he is the father of the child, that's not proof or his involvement. It would look bad, however, if he thought he was the father and didn't immediately agree to help the police or show some sorrow for the loss of her life as well as concern for the baby.

The baby wasn't born at the time of the murder, so even if you assume he had a relationship with this poor woman, he couldn't be sure he was the father. We don't know if he even had a sexual relationship with her.

I had a friend who had what he thought was an exclusive relationship with the gf. She got pregnant and they planned to marry. She called off the wedding at the 11th hour, but maintained the baby was his. Paternity test proved the baby wasn't his and he was totally shocked. He'd been with her all the time with the exception of one weekend of the relationship.

The people calling him a suspect don't even think he is a suspect, that is what bothers me

They keep saying

"People don't think he committed the crime, but he is a suspect"

That is the equivalent of saying

"People don't think he committed the crime, but he is a person who is thought to have committed the crime"

Answer this simple question:

On a test for your life, the only question is this;

Is La'el collins a suspect in the Mills murder, circle yes or no.

How would you answer it?

yes

Yes, it will.

The thing is that even if Collins himself was the guy who showed up and shot Brittany Mills, it will not validate your "something tells me" angle except in your own mind.

Let me get this straight, hiring a private investigator to look into your own whereabouts is something someone with something to hide would do?

Hiring someone to look into your own whereabouts. Say that outloud. He cannot communicate through a criminal attorney his own whereabouts? He needs a hired person to figure it out? How much is he paying them? For the right money he can probably be anywhere at anytime.

I am not saying he is guilty but just thought this was weird.

Anyone can say where they were. You hire a PI to prove to the GMs you werent involve. That is the whole point

Pretend he isn't an LSU player, then form your opinion. If this were an Alabama player what would the comments be like?

Here is another question:

The BRPD thinks La'el collins murdered Mills. True or false?
