Hopefully that admiral dude sticks to his guns (pun intended) and keeps Charlie.

I really don't see this accomplishing the desired outcome. Herman's agent Wouldn't be doing his job if he allowed his client to make a decision before Texas has 100% entered the fold.
What if Texas goes another direction?

Yeah, but Houston has got to be putting something together to try to kerp him, so at the worst he stays there with a big raise. And there will be other openings.
It wont be a money issue.
Houston vs LSU?
Great coaches go to better programs.
Houston may match LSU money wise, but it becomes do you want to coach big boy football or stay in AAC.

That seems to be a huge what if and then in that case we win by default.
The point is, no matter how much we demand an answer now, his agent would be negligent to not wait and see what Texas plans to do.

Hill might be hurt, could be good news for us

Bruh. He's saying LSU is telling Herman take it or leave it and don't tug our dicks around
Posted on 11/25/16 at 5:16 pm to KarlMalonesFlipPhone
Not really, that is how you play hardball.
If they decline LSU's offer and Texas keeps strong or goes after a real name, LSU could now have a much lower offer than its inital offer.
Offers cut both ways. Texas would also have to be willing to pay LSU's offer.
Believe it or not school dont like to piss away money.

Miles' winning percentage while at LSU is 77.03%. McClendon's winning percentage while at LSU is 67.49%.

My point is that giving Herman an ultimatum doesn't seem like a great strategy. If he says no, and Texas doesn't come through, his worst case is staying at Houston for a big raise.

Well played Joe. Your move Herman.

It is pretty clear.
LSU is saying we will not keep playing cat and mouse with you or like Flip said, "you are not tugging our dicks anymore"

Or I Herman could just elect to stay at UH for one more year. I don't think it's that far fetched. In the end, Herman has the leverage because I honestly think he's happy at Houston for the time being.

I'm not saying I don't agree with how we are handling it, I'm just saying I'm not optimistic at this point given the rumors that Texas may want him as well.
Posted on 11/25/16 at 5:19 pm to adamb2151
Hermans stock at Houston will never get any higher. The only reason he would stay is if Texas keeps Strong and he's holding on for next year with the Texas job in mind.

There's a reason coaches don't stay at schools like Houston when bigger ones come calling. One poor season and you've just cost yourself a chance to move up the ladder.
That's really poor business practice.
