that was a pretty mediocre auburn team that went 8-5. and les had guice and fournette that year.

i would argue LSU had the better team that year.

this year auburn might actually have better talent than LSU.

No. That's pure speculation.

The amount of threads acting like miles never won big games and only O could have won that game is getting hilarious at this point.

It's so asinine.

I'm usually on the Miles side of these arguments, but he wouldn't have beaten Auburn on Saturday. LSU won that game largely because they challenged Auburn's DBs with 50/50 balls. Les would never have done that.

We're still last or next to last in the SEC in offense. Y'all act like so much has changed.

That game was almost an exact Les Miles like win.

Les would have won 2016 UF, 2017 Troy and ND at the very least (probably State too).

I really don't get the point if threads like these. 0 has a long way to go before he gets to be compared to the most successful coach in school history.

It sure wasn’t from efficient offense.

Miles would have been crucified with that type of offensive overall performance and he would be getting killed by everyone crying about our dismal offensive ratings right now. They are worse than miles offenses.

I’m thrilled we won but I do not understand why everyone’s standards have changed for o

My standards have not changed. Orgeron still has to win something significant.

That said, a Les Miles/Cam Cameron coached LSU team doesn't beat Auburn Saturday.

The games would be different. We wouldn’t have burrow at qb but we most likely would have better running backs. The d would be similar.

I think we could pull it off.

Interesting that at the moment I am reading this, you have 12 upvotes and 10 downvotes...like the score 2 years ago.

Is that team somehow better than 2011 Bama? That offense was pedestrian, although statistically much better than what we currently have.

because i think his offense would have played right into auburn's front 7. i think the defense would have been gassed in the second half. and i don't think we would have had the qb play in the 4th quarter to win.

i still have severe concerns on O as the head coach...but is the first time i've actually thought he's an upgrade from the 2016 incarnation of les miles.

is he worth keeping around? i guess the rest of the season will show us.

You're not going to convince me that LSU wins that game running the offense they did under Cam Cameron.

Again, LSU's success on offense against Auburn was centered around stretching the field and trusting the QB and receivers to put pressure on Auburn's DBs. Literally the opposite of what Miles had become at the end of his tenure.

Since the Les Miles approved passing game rarely consisted of using the middle of the field, it is highly unlikely Dee Anderson's touchdown would have ever happened. So yeah, I can see where one could speculate O winning this one where Miles wouldn't.

Because Les never won any big games against good teams. Because Les never came back from behind on the road.

The fact is that if Ed Orgeron retires with the exact same record and accomplishments as Les Miles then he will be considered a HUGE success as a hire. Stop with the foolishness.

he would have slammed the rb into auburn's defensive front for 4 quarters.

and brennan or mcmilan most likely would have been the qb's.

it would have been a bloodbath.

I agree with this.

It is why Les had to go.

You are right, man. Les never had a 3-0 record or a top 10 team at LSU.
