First of all, i am in full favor of making Price the aecond string and letting him and CEH swap carries.

I dont know what O sees in practice and I wont claim to know. But i do know that on the field, Price is by far the most physical run you the frick over back we have.

Emery is a month away and Lanard is better grabbing screens in space.

But think about it. Have we really needed a running game yet? Burrow puts the ball on the money every time. I expect Florida will be doubling up our WRs and making us run, because LSU has yet to show (or needed to show) a strong running game.

And an actual running game SCREWS UP the Spread/RPO.

The Defense-freaks want to s-l-o-w down the offense to help the D.

And Freshmen who can't read D's, and can't catch the checkdown passes, screw up the S/RPO.

It ain't broke! Don't fix it!

The running game is ok and serviceable which is all LSU needs it to be.

Burrow is just reading defenses and taking what they give him (most of the time). Burrow is just so aggressive he probably needs to be told, "okay Burrow, run this time. We need to burn some clock." Otherwise he reads defenses, see space and mismatches and it's just too enticing for him not to take what the defense if giving him.

I like the play calling. I like the offense
I like the passing game

We have thrown 149 times and run 126 (including sacks)

Considering how good we are passing, I have no issue with the pass:run ratio.

I would like to see us get more when we do run. CEH has everything you want besides break away speed. He is looking better every game. We need the other RBs on the roster to do more. Emery is looking better every week.

We are up to 4.5 yards a carry (not including sacks)

I don't think we need whole sale schematic changed. Just better execution.

our Run game has been completely fine. Ranters just need something to whine about.

CEH has been a beast at pass blocking.

Since we are basically running a Sean Payton/Drew Brees offense, eclipsing 100 yards rushing is all we need to win, Anything over a total of 150 yards should mean beast mode rushing.

The running game is perfectly fine for the type of offense we're running. It was much better last game with holes opening up and the push up front.

At this point in time the passing game is far more developed than the running game.

Honestly I would like to see more runs on first down and airing it out on second and whatever. However efficient the current offense is, it's not balanced.

Here's a possibility that some will not like : The running game is not working as well b/c Brady is much better at scheming a passing offense.

No. LSU was using a different run blocking scheme the first 3 games. They seen it wasn't working and they went back to their traditional zone blocking scheme vs Vandy and we had our best day on the ground this season.

CEH is averaging 5.65 YPC this season. That is actually pretty damn good.

Anything over 5 is all you need.

ETA:

For reference, Brossette had 4.3 YPC last year, which was not good enough.

^^This^^

A rookie RB pass blocker can get a QB hurt.

Except for the part where Burrow got hammered, and did not have the same footwork (or success throwing the ball) after the big hit.

Touche, but to me it looked better than Georgia State and Northwestern.

Remember when we use to say this about the quarterback because of the running game?
This offense is so much more fun.

an actual running game

Sometimes I miss the old days when you hand the ball off on off-tackle folds to Robiskie and Alexander and shorten the games considerably. We were often getting 300-400 yards rushing back then.

Problem was that after Bert Jones, we had QBs like Carl Otis Trimble and Billy Broussard who couldn't hit the side of a house with their passes.

If you don't practice it now, don't expect to be good at it when you do need it.
