I don’t understand the hate on the purple jerseys. I’ve always thought they were pretty sweet. Especially when they go white purple white.

LSU very, very, rarely wore purple jerseys until 1983 when the NCAA mandated the home team wear dark. This policy was reversed after the 1994 season thanks to lobbying by Gerry DiNardo. Purple jerseys were considered by many LSU fans to be bad luck. LSU went 0-fer in the SEC in '83 and the Purple Jersey Era, with a few exceptions, is not a time that LSU fans look upon fondly.
