I think JJ's lawyer is doing this so that if he gets JJ cleared in the end, they will come after Les and LSU for damages for JJ not playing and possibly not making the NFL.

Seems JJ's attorney is planning to approach Les about lifting JJ's suspension while he fights this charge.

I am so glad to see that JJ is still trying his damndest to be a distraction and help submarine this season for LSU!

Just go away JJ!

Even if you are needed (don't worry, you aren't!) , you aren't wanted!

They have no cause of action.

That's not exactly true.

Jefferson deserves punishment in this situation but he also deserves another chance whether at LSU or elsewhere. Vick got a second chance and once Jefferson goes through legal process, will probably end up settling out of court for medical bills, etc. and then he can resume his football career.

For Jefferson's sake, he may be better off somewhere other than LSU because I don't think the fans will cut him any slack and he would probably be booed on senior day.

Yes, the NFL will surely be depribed of a great passing quarterback such Jefferson. Give it a rest. Jefferson is not NFL material.

I agree and disagree. There is nothing that he can do for the legal issue, but Les shouldn't compound it if he can help it. I know the Academics are going to want their pound of flesh, but it's all going over the top right now.

It may have been discussed already, but what actions did the university take towards JJ?

I know in the past they have suspended students, or at least put them on probation, reguardless on what the courts found. The fact that he was charged would be enough for them to discipline him.

Do you really think Jefferson is thinking, "Hmmm, how can I be the biggest distraction to my best friends and teammates?" That's asinine.

Why don't you go away? You have never once busted your arse out there on the field for us fans to enjoy/hate/bitch/cheer. Jordan Jefferson is more of a Tiger than you'll ever be. Hater.

Right. This isn't an eligibility issue as in Shepard's case. The NCAA has no authority here. This is strictly a PR situation for the University.

LSU could declare tomorrow that Jefferson can play and there would be zero repercussions.

except for the negative publicity they would want to avoid, especially considering the massive budget issues they currently face.

But yeah, zero repercussions.

And the hits just keep on coming.

At some point people should look at themselves in the mirror and admit they are causing more harm than good.

The Athletic Department has no budget issues.

And what percentage of revenue do you think would be lost by Jefferson being allowed to play?

I'm betting less than 1%.

At the end of the day, people don't really give a shite about bar fights.

I'm glad you elected not to quote the part where he says exactly that. Jackass.

Because the state legislature would open a special session to reduce LSU's operating budget because they don't like Jordan Jefferson.

*The preceding statement is rife with sarcasm.
