These teams may all look strong, but pollsters might want to think twice before inviting them to a BCS bowl. Why? Because their schedules just aren't cutting it. Take LSU, for starters. The Tigers' recipe for a national championship: Schedule the cupcake champ and get a TV deal with ESPN. Talk up Troy. Beat the stuffing out of North Texas. Start the "tough path" talk before you lose to an overrated SEC team. Barely stay with Tulane in the first half, then blow them away in the second. Play 75 percent of your games at home. Lose to another mediocre SEC team and repeat the "tough path" whine. Hoist crystal trophy.

does it really matter. we won the crystal based on the system these douche bags agreed upon. Not like we poloticked to get in the MNC, they put us there and we beat the shite out of tOSU. i really don't care what some USC homer beat writer thinks. The ball is in Baton Rouge.

Our OOC schedule IS one of the easiest in the country. But so what?

We play 4 teams IN CONFERENCE currently ranked in the top 10. Not to mention the SECCG which is a defacto OOC game against a top 10 team. Who cares about our OOC schedule, our overall schedule is hard enough.

The big problem I have with that comment from Mr. Graythen is he mixes last year and this year without mentioning Va Tech

What's terrible about that piece is that last year, when we won the NC, we played Virginia Tech, who ended up ranked #3 in the final BCS poll of the regular season.

The writer is ignorant.

I will write Slive and tell him that he should have said to ESPN, to CBS and start his own TV network SEC Nation.

I know what they were talking about. I also know that he mentioned last year's championship with this year's OOC schedule. And we played VaTech last year.

Sounds like the comment on the link is running 2007 and 2008 together. Fact is in 2007, LSU played the conference champ of the ACC and demolished them. LSU played and beat 5 of the final top 15, a feat not accomplished by any other team in the history of college football.

In 2008, LSU does have a weak OOC schedule. Nobody has contended otherwise. But if LSU were to go undefeated or lose only one game, it will still have played more highly ranked teams than almost any other team in the country, certainly more than any team in the Pac 10. Who cares about the OOC? USC will play nobody in the top 10 for the rest of the season. They may play no more than 2 or 3 ranked teams for the entire year. Despite LSU's cupcake OOC schedule, LSU will still play better opponents overall than any Pac 10 team, any ACC team, any Big 10 team, and most Big 12 teams.
