I may be an eternal optimist, I don't know. The more I think about it, the less concerned i am. I was at the game, the Auburn team, coaches and crowd were very emotional and into it. Didn't know a student trainer had died before the game, until after the game. Plus we had to deal w/ Tom Ritter and his crew ... at Auburn ... a tough combo to beat as history shows. Of course, Auburn didn't hold at all, and of course they didn't commit personal fouls ... just LSU. Right. Frankly, we're lucky to get out of the state of Alabama with a win. The SEC office isn't located in the state of AL without consequences.

Don't go using logic now. Got some things to fix including the online, but still should make a run.

Great perspective. I swear, as soon as I heard the first comment after the game, I thought, "Here we go...watch 'em all hitch to the sensationalism bandwagon. They are like mindless magpies. One pops off and kaw kaw kaw all throughout the national media. This is the SEC. We take losing personally. From the coach to the fan and everyone in between. Our teams fight tooth and nail to defend at home. The media act as if Auburn was a cupcake team. I would be willing to bet that 85% of teams in other conferences would have the snot whipped out of them in Auburn's backyard. Outside of some dropped balls, I'm completely ok with our win.

Excellent read and, unlike most of this board, sane analysis....

Our offense is gonna be fine. Turnovers and penalties skewed the Auburn game. Total yards tell the real story.

failure was eminent.
You probably meant inevitable and accidentally went for imminent. Then, you fouled that up and put eminent.
One things for sure, failure is NEVER eminent.

Hey, lay off that shite! Just like playing left tackle, driving a tamale truck is harder than you think!

The offensive miscues killed us. The d was stellar. I never thought it would be a complete blowout, but it should not have been that close, either. We are MUCH better than Auburn.

24 hour rule. We won the game, people and have analyzed it to death. Let's move on or Towson is going to be a trap game.

Saturday night's game was just another example of how difficult it is to win on the road in the SEC. I was talking to my buddy and said there was NO way we beat the spread, you don't go on the road in the SEC and win by 20+ points often.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. It doesn't matter how many points we win by, as long as we continue to win we will be in good shape at the end of the year. We still have USCe, Bama, Florida away, aTm, and either Georgia or USCe again. If we win ALL of those games by 2 points we will still be going to the BCS (I'm having trouble imagining we lose to anyone else)

This is what really stood out:
quote:
Last weekend, LSU was the only team that was able to do it. A very good Vanderbilt team was soundly defeated at Georgia and a traditionally strong Missouri team lost by 21 points at South Carolina. In fact, the Tigers are one of only five SEC teams this season to win a conference contest on the road, joining Alabama, Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. Four of those five squads are ranked among the nation’s top-six teams.

Any win on the road in the SEC is a good thing. It's the SEC!!! It's tough!! I'll take a win for any road game in the SEC by one point any damn day!
