Pickoff throw thrown away... State continuing to pull a State. Winning run at 2nd for TCU, no outs
Now at 3rd after a sac bunt, basehit drives him home. The collapse is complete.

down 7 w/ 6 outs left... and it's NOT the #7 natty seed that's home...
THE #1 OVERALL SEED IS GONE! MARYLAND DEFEATED UCLA TO WIN LOS ANGELES REGIONAL

Why does Virginia host over Maryland? They were both 3 seeds and Maryland knocked off the number 1 seed in the tourney. Im just curious how they decide this when neither teams are national seeds and both teams are the same seed in their regional.

rt, Im looking for a little help here, by Friday or Saturday start times for the Supers being announced, does that correlate with when each team may play on the opening weekend in Omaha? i.e. Friday Super = Saturday Omaha, Saturday Super = Sunday Omaha?

Virginia probably has better facilities and put in a better $$$ bid.

Usually, assuming both schools are available to host a Super Regional, the higher seed will host (a national seed is considered higher than a regular #1 seed). If they're both the same seed, the schools will bid for the right to host. In this case, Virginia won the bid over Maryland.
