On top of that, why wouldn't they want to be called ULL? That's a unique name and nobody will ever confuse you with the other UL who has the same colors...
ULL is a unique brand, UL just looks like you're trying to be Louisville.
I agree with this. Lafayette is very Louisiana. It's very cajun. It's the best thing they have going for them from a branding standpoint. I can't think of anything that matches what they want to do with their brand better.
I cant' figure out why they are running from it. It's obviously an emotional decision.

The "they" said so and so is just lsu fans saying they heard it. Not one ul fan has been in yere arguing they are flagship of Louisiana

Not in this thread, but they are trying to change the name because they want to be seen as the flagship of the UL system. That's has actually been said several times over many years. It's not just being made up by LSU fans.

I have many friends that went to ul. None of them have visions of being seen as the flagship. I need to see non trolling post about how they are doing it to become the #1 school in the state
